35 Romney endorsers received contributions first

Money may not be buying Mitt Romney much Republican love, but it’s going a long way toward helping him buy the next best thing: endorsements in the GOP primaries.

Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC and its affiliates states have lavished close to $1.3 million in campaign donations to federal, state and local GOP politicians, almost all since 2010. His recipients include officials in the major upcoming primary states of New Hampshire and South Carolina, and in three southern Super Tuesday states where he was trounced four years ago.

In New Hampshire, a U.S. senator, a congressman, 10 state senators and three executive councilors shared $26,000 in donations from Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC in 2010 and 2011 combined. All 15 have showered Romney with endorsements leading up to Tuesday’s primary

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley came out for Romney last month – a year after his Free and Strong America PACs funneled $36,000 to the Tea Party darling’s 2010 election bid. And 19 state and Washington, D.C., lawmakers in three Super Tuesday states – Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia — are backing Romney after his PAC poured a total of $125,500 into their coffers for elections held in 2009 and 2010.

I would imagine the four who did not receive anything before hand will be contacting the Romney organization shortly : /

What a mess.

Philosophically, with the remaining candidates, I like Perry, but I think Newt has a better shot at stopping the coronation of Romney, and I find myself praying that Newt comes on REALLY strong in SC.

And what is with all the flack Newt is getting about the Bain Capital?! From OUR side?! I am no legal/economic scholar, but heck, even I understood the point of his commentary...shakes head. Capitalism and CRONY capitalism are two different things... Sheesh.

May God guide our course.

Well, the upside is that now we know who can be bought.

Depressing, but at least now we know.

> It really doesn’t matter what happens in November. Romney will be no different than Obama. Not even a little IMO.

He’ll be worse, because while his ideas are nearly identical to Zer0’s, the GOPs in Congress will be more willing to capitulate to those ideas. Because of the R next to his name.

And of course the Dims will snickeringly go along, and we’ll have a great big pile of “bipartisan” socialist mess.

This is why, if Myth is “our” nominee, that I will be sorely tempted to sit this presidential election out (I’ll vote local/state, but beyond that...).

Pray like you’ve never prayed before. And GIVE GIVE GIVE to Conservatives running for Congress! It’s our only hope.

Americans have lost all sense of decency. Our votes are meaningless. They are bought and paid for by the ESTABLISHMENT.

And to think in some countries people DIE just to vote.

America’s SHAME!

Instead of reinforcing their message or explaining why Romney is wrong (Romney comparing himself to DUh-bama gave left an opening), Newt and Perry both shot themelves in the foot when they backed off attack mode...

no we are not allowed to pick our candidate.

We will again start in the small New England liberal area state which has an open primary where we will allow kooks, Libs, non party to vote our guy or gal.

We will then let non republicans like Paul to use our platform to run on our ticket.

We will shut up to the MSM because they might like us one day double ARF.

We will shut up and be cowards on social issues because we don;’t want to upset those beltway north east elitist cocktail pals they have.

We will let SC still have an open primary

We will punish my state FL because we dare to become forward with a closed primary and have to show ID.

Funny how Paul and Rino Romney are looking at absentee ballots for FL

Nothing to do with photo ID laws we have here or a closed primary and that they can get round it with absentee ballots
Nah coincidence must be

YEA RIGHT.

expect to get attacked off their groupies

How anyone has not seen Hannity for who he really is astounds me.
The man has never talked about social issues, he never tells his viewers and listeners to get on the phones and make calls and don;t stop.
He takes his notes of Rush of which Rush takes notes off Drudge website.

Not one of them gets active enough, and if they wanted to defeat Rino’s they could easily get the message out but of course we as vets and those serving tried to get Hannity to mention the don’t ask policy and he would not allow any of us but next day he said he is for the troops

No you are not you lying sack of crap Hannity so just stay with your Roves, THE ESTABLISHMENT AND THE ELITIST LIBERALS YOU HANG OUT WITH

Where do they get the nerve?

The so called Republicans have as much stink around them as the sitting “ONE”. Time for a third Party, if they can find someone who can withstand the scrutiny and the money laundering schemes. So far — NO ONE is without fault. I don’t think anyone is worth voting for, only the worst of evil.

NO ONE can pretend to be shocked or surprised by this. We’ve known since 2008 this was going to happen.

Dear Leader Pelosi,

After reading about House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer’s outburst over my “Overhauling Washington” plan, I wonder if his obstructionism reflects your own opposition and that of the Democratic Caucus to urgent reforms the American people so vehemently demand.

After increasing the debt by $4 trillion in less than three years, no one can believe that Americans are satisfied with business as usual, and that a permanent political class in Washington can get us out of the mess you and your colleagues have created.

A part-time Congress with half the pay would still make $38,000 a year more than the average American family. Do you truly oppose lawmakers spending more time in their districts? Is it so important for the Washington power brokers to build their fiefdoms of influence, including providing bailouts to Wall Street while businesses on Main Street are being boarded up every day?

Here is the fundamental question: do you believe Washington is broken? Before answering that question, consider these facts:

1) the Washington Metro area is now the most affluent metropolitan area in the country because lobbyists, contractors, elected officials and bureaucrats have been insulated from the economic ruin prevalent in the private sector;
2) Congressional office budgets have doubled since 2000 while employers all across America are laying off workers;
3) Our nation’s total debt is nearing the size of our nation’s economy, increasing our dependence on competitors like China;
4) The number of Americans out of work has increased by more than two million since January 2009, despite the massive stimulus package Democratic leaders promised would revive the economy, and;
5) on top of the job-killing spending policies of the previous Congress, employers are faced with a staggering $1.1 trillion in costs related to federal regulatory compliance.

Do you truly believe the answer to massive debt, over-regulation and bloated big-government policies is to continue to protect the status quo, which enriches and empowers Washington insiders at the expense of the American People?

My plan would overhaul Washington, eliminating certain agencies and reducing the size and scope of others. It will force Congress to make the tough decisions to balance the budget or require a further reduction in their pay. It would end lifetime appointments to future appointees to the federal bench. I don’t want to tinker around the edges when the American People demand a complete overhaul of Washington.

Let me conclude with an invitation: I am in Washington Monday and would love to engage you in a public debate about my Overhaul Washington plan versus the congressional status quo. I think it would be a tremendous service to the American public to see a public airing of these differences. Let the people decide. If Monday doesn’t work, perhaps we could find a time in Iowa over the course of the next month to discuss these issues in front of the people of America’s heartland.

Should you choose not to respond or engage in such a healthy discussion, I will take it to mean you will continue your obstructionist ways in the face of much needed Washington reform.

Sincerely,

Rick Perry
Governor of Texas

Of course. If one of the remaining candidates doesn’t hammer away at this pay for play game, they’re too stupid to be President. Trouble is, it will be poo pooed by the MSM as the ‘reality of politics’.

Excellent post. You nailed ‘em all.
The fresh faces backed out, and what possibly remains is an old school Republican candidate.
He is still better than 4 more years of Ubama.
