LAKE WACCAMAW - An attempted armed robbery at Waccamaw Outdoor Supply on Wednesday ended with the alleged robber critically injured from a single gunshot, Police Chief Scott Hyatt said. The suspect died hours later.
"A masked suspect came in with a weapon - not a gun, a weapon - and there was an exchange between the employee and the suspect," Hyatt said. "There were employees and customers in the store at the time. It was not a customer who did the shooting."
The suspect said nothing during the exchange with the employee, Hyatt said.
"He was shot once," the chief said of the suspect. "I'm not going to say where, not right now."
Hyatt would only identify the dead man as a 20-year-old. The man was initially treated at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville, and later transferred to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington where he died.
Hyatt said the employee who shot the suspect pulled a gun from under the counter during a similar robbery attempt a week earlier.
"In that case, the suspect got one leg in the door, the employee went for the gun, and the suspect ran," Hyatt said.
Hyatt said he does not expect to charge anyone in Wednesday's shooting.

These robbers are not being wounded, these home invasion perps, rapists, molesters and other vermin are not being captured, hardly are they just surrendering.
No they are getting their freakin heads turned into Type O Picasso portraits on the walls.

Maybe America is just fed up and really is fighting back, evil, wrongness and the lowlife and especially the evil highlife are very concerned.

I will also comment that the lowlife is also getting motivation from the socialism in the WH, the media and on the streetcorner such as the OWS.
So they believe now more than before a righteous entitlement to our fruits of our burden.When you have a POTUS that wants to “change” America to everyone being equal its the message for those with less to take away from those with more.

If I own/worked at a convenience store/bank/etc. and a person enters the establishment wearing a ski mask, it better be very frikin cold outside and they better be wearing a coat.
Weapon visible or not, I would not be waiting for an explanation about their outfit before I started premptive measures to aggressively defend myself, customers and store.

Very likely much more. Career criminals have been defined as committing 5 or more serious crimes per week. That would translate into thousands of crimes over a career.

I guess you didn’t get the memo. He was turning his life around. He hoped to sign a recording contract with a major studio. He was going to marry the mother of one of his children. And get his GED. His mother tells us he was a good boy who never hurt nobody. Yada, yada, yada.
True, but permit me to restate that:
When you have a POTUS that wants to “change” America to equalize the peasants' standard of living, it's a message for those with less to take away from those with more.
People who won't work hard tend to resent those who do.
Lake Waccamaw is a nice little place, just off the US Highway, with a little manufacturing base and some lakefront retirement houses and outdoor recreation activities. Not very busy this time of year.
