Mitt Romney/Nikki Haley 2012 or Gingrich/Palin 2012?
The Hill ^ | January 11, 2012 | Bernie Quigley

Romney’s victory in New Hampshire can almost deliver the nomination to him — and, I am convinced, the presidency. There cannot be a more auspicious moment. Having a man from Bain come in and restore your company or country is like having Chef Gordon Ramsay reawaken your restaurant. And Romney brings skills to his task akin to those of Dwight D. Eisenhower.

It is a transitional moment, but it might even be considered a transcendent moment. Barack Obama’s job was to complete a work project begun long ago by Jack Kennedy and Eisenhower and even further back to Lincoln, Emerson and Garrison. This aspect he has graciously mastered and completed.

But we are a different country today than we were in 1831, 1865 or 1956; a rich and full country and one that looks auspiciously out across the Pacific as well as the Atlantic. A place today like Black Elk looked to as “the center of the world,” East, West, South and the Great White North. So 2012 brings a beginning and there is no one better to begin new processes, systems and establishments than Romney. There is no better man for our times.

Providing everything goes well in South Carolina, which today is more important than New Hampshire.

2012 could bring Romney/Haley 2012 or Romney/Perry or Romney/Petraeus, but this has been the political season of the trickster and the trickster is still at large. So South Carolina could just as easily bring Gingrich/Palin 2012. I think Romney has it. But the departure of Bill Daley from the White House is also ominous. Daley is honest and honorable. He was the first to speak out about the direction of the Obama presidency, claiming that it was leaving the middle behind. It appeared that Daley was brought into the White House to accommodate that middle. Now that he is being sent out it appears that the middle — and Daley’s warning to Obama — is being abandoned and the president will pursue a more radical agenda. This could bring crisis to a divided America like we have not seen in a hundred years.

I would LOVE to see Newt disembowel Joe Biden during the debates.

You are making a rash assumption that "Bite-Me" doesn't get replaced by the "smartest woman in the history of the world". Especially when O-Blamer's handlers realize that Joe the Boat Anchor is worth about 10 points in the polls... for the Republicans!

I think most people (though not most people here on FR) will agree that he is a better alternative than four more years of Hussein.

Then "most people" are wrong. Obama thinks highly of his work, though.

Nope, that’s only until the ads start coming ut and the media turns on Romney. It will be a disaster. There are 14 million unemployed people out there, just running a portion of the movie will turn their stomachs and the media will be running it 24/7.

“ROMNEY/HUCKABEE would blow Obama away.”

No but Newt/Huck or Santorum/Huck WOULD.

No, but having been a red stater inside blue state Illinois for 25 years, I get a taste of it. The rest of your observations also make a lot of sense, but that’s about as much as we can say about it here.

I just hope the eventual nominee uses the VP selection as a way to bolster the ticket and one way to do that would be to learn from McCain-Palin and pull in a person who really is a complement, not just a lapdog like Obama did. A bold choice for Romney would be someone like Gingrich, who despite the present enmity would bring innovative ideas and political experience.

Frankly, given Newt’s tendency to, as you say, “do silly things”, the VP slot would be a good fit for him, I think. A place where his ideas could be harnessed without worrying about the consequences of having a President who admittedly does “dumb things” at times.

You’ll need a Constitutional Amendment for Haley. I love her, but she is not an NBC. Neither is Jindal, nor Rubio.

She most certainly is. Nikki Haley was born Nimrata Nikki Randhawa in Bamberg, South Carolina.

And for that matter, Bobby Jindal was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Marco Rubio was born in Miami, Florida.

Natural Born Citizen does not require having US citizens for parents if you are born in the United States.

I agree with you, but it sure as s##t doesn't mean anything to the other side (or the courts apparently).

I think it would suddenly become VERY important to the rat party and their sycophant media if Nikki Haley were on the ticket. They'd go nuts over the importance of the NBC requirement.
