Rick Perry had an indisputably rough night in New Hampshire. In fact, tonight, his eyes were entirely on South Carolina, and, on Hannity tonight, he didn’t even bother to talk about New Hampshire. But his night got worse as Sean Hannity challenged him on his claims that Mitt Romney was a “vulture capitalist”– going so far as to claim that Perry sounded like a member of Occupy Wall Street.
Perry began the segment attacking President Obama, but Hannity quickly shifted gears to the “very harsh words” Perry has had for Romney. “It almost sounds like Occupy Wall Street,” he noted, “it doesn’t sound like someone who is governing Texas as a conservative.”
“There is a real difference between venture capitalism and vulture capitalism,” Perry replied, adding that “venture capitalism we like; vulture capitalism, no.” He justified his attacks saying that “the fact of the matter is he’s going to have to face up to this at some time or another.” Hannity wasn’t satisfied with this answer, asking Perry whether he was saying “that Mitt Romney is a vulture capitalist, that he is unethical.” Perry specified that he thought what happened with two specific companies bought by Bain was “irresponsible,” and that “the folks in South Carolina agree with that.” Hannity replied that it was still “as severe as they can get” as far as attacks go, though Perry insisted there were places where Bain had “destroyed people’s lives.”
The segment via Fox News below:
Hannity hasn’t the mental horsepower required to be a leaf blower.
Oh look at all the little Elites line up, dutifully, behind RINO Romney. I may pike.
Looks like Obama’s Kool-aid is spilling into the gullets of the supporters of Perry and Gingrich.
HAHAHAHA Oh I am SO stealing that line!!!! I’m assuming you haven’t copy-written it. =) hehehehehehe
Hannity is right. Romney is awful, but the one thing he actually does have going for him is his successful tenure as a capitalist at Bain. It’s about the only thing I can even think of that gives me any confidence that Romney is an actual human being and not some sort of twisted political energizer chameleon who just won’t go away.
Attacking with these occupywallstreet barbs from the left is a terrible idea, doomed to fail, and is unfortunately helping Mitt the RINO by bolstering the only conservative credentials he can actually point to. Taking weak companies, firing redundancy and overhead, making them more efficient and giving them a shot to succeed (and making a lot of money for investors by doing so) is a necessary part of the free enterprise system. Hearing Perry and Newt attack Romney from the left for it is just sad, smacks of outright desperation and is truly pathetic.
I live in Texas and Rick Perry has embarrassed the entire state and he a liar.
To attack Romney by taking out his context about “liking to fire people”.......(Romney was talking about firing companies you lying jerk).........shows Perry and his desperation.
Some people want to win an election at any cost. Perry is the poster child. He tried to make Romney’s illegal worker an issue, something from years ago, he embarrassed himself and Texas in the debates, and now........he’s just a liar.
The Headline should have been “Republican Candidates LIE about Romney’s statement concerning firing people.”
Both Hannity and Limbaugh seem to have decided to “carry the water” for Mittens. ABC has repeatedly stated that the 2 primary wins mean that Slick Willard “is” the nominee. I guess the establishment Republican blue bloods have distributed the talking points, and the “water boys” are just following their orders.
That’s about the way I see it.
Hannity cannot carry a radio show alone as Rush can. He depends on guests. He loves having Mitt come on his show.
He sees Perry, I guess, as a longshot and dispensable.
I’m starting to despise Hannity.
Now, wait a doggone minute. Perry did attack Romney (nothin’ wrong with that) but not in an anti-capitalist way. He used the term ... ‘not against venture capitalism but against vulture capitalism.’
Some people perceive Mitt as one of those corporate raiders who took over companies, gutted them, and put lots of people out of work.
Being against that is not anti-capitalism.
Don’t follow the mainstream media in this people.
Romney put his dog on top of his car. I’ll believe anything bad about a man like that.
Hannity is a Romney buttboy.
Apparently you are the only person in Texas that doesn’t want Texas to prosper.
Since projections were released last night that 200,000 NEW jobs are expected in Texas during 2012. I would say the only embarrassment in Texas is you.
Link please. (And no, I'm not defending Romney!!!)
Show me in Rush's transcripts where you get that idea?
No one on this site who posts on a regular basis can dislike Barack Hussein “Muslim Brotherhood Adoree” Obama and his Black Racist wife, Michelle “The Racist, Elitist Witch” Obama. A review of my postings will confirm this!!!
But.....let me take to task those on this site and throughout the country, who support Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry and sometimes Rick Santorum!!! IMHO, at least New Gingrich and Rick Perry should be removed from the race or withdraw on their own!!! Both Gingrich and Perry are not hittting on all eight cylinders. I can think of a million things that I can beat up Mitt Romney with other then what these two unbalanced nutcases did!!!
Mitt Romney is going to win the Pubbie nominee slot, easily, made so....by these two hateful, emotional and envious people!!! Oh.....Romney and Ron Paul will get along just fine, and....Romney will go on to win the POTUS slot!!! Santorum also has a role to play and can be quite helpful. At least, Santorum did not stoop below the gutter as Gingrich & Perry have done!!! These two should be confined to taking the trash out at the end of the evening!!!
Look, this upcoming election is one of the most important in our lifetimes and in the history of this great nation. We, the People, need to pull together, patch up our differences and go out next November and handily defeat Obama and the Democrat Party so bad, they will not recover for twenty years or more!!! Anything less destroys out nation for us and all of our children!!! Wise up, folks, your lives and future is at stake, and...you darn well better recognize that fact!!!
What you said, Marty.
And JN, don’t know where you’re coming from, but it was not the using of illegal workers that Perry attacked, so much as it was the hypocrisy.
Romney didn’t give a flip about using illegal workers. His very words to his gardener boss betrayed him. Something like, hey, I don’t care, but I’m running for office here.
He says things like that and does things like that and has the nerve to portray Perry as pro-illegals.
Do you really blame Perry for bringing that up?
In fact, that’s as big a reach as you think Perry was making.
You must really love Mitt or hate Perry. Kinda thinkin’ the former.
