I wish I knew what was up with that, but it’s my take that at least in part we’re being gamed with these polls. Romney may not have won Iowa, and here he is winning New Hampshire and all of a sudden we’re supposed to think he has the big mo. I call B.S.

We’ll see how he does in South Carolina.

I will not support Romney. Anything that can legitimately deny him the nomination is fine with me.

I think that people are going to have to decide quickly to unite behind someone.

Newt should be the palatable candidate for conservative leaners and many here on FR, but one cannot deny that Ron Paul has been on the side of limited government and constitutional liberty.

Paul has to deal with the foreign policy doubts about him and the feelings that he is some sort of leftist anti-war kook if he is to have any breakthrough.

Rush’s position can most likely be explained by the fact that he has been slammed by Media Matters and others regarding the Bain Capital buyout of Clear Channel.

Romney was ‘chosen’ months ago. I find your opinion of the republican machine spot on. The best way to ensure positive future results is for die-hard r’s to accept the reality imo. No third party can beat a dem machine, but the reality, informing voters, is always a good thing. It's no small task to build a third party from the ground up. They inherently attract ‘kooks’ but the conversation should remain active and current while we wait for ‘the perfect storm’ of events imo.

I’m not defending Rush; I’m very irritated at him, actually, especially after today’s comments. But if you’ll read that article, it makes perfect sense. Newt and Perry are bringing up crony capitalism vs. ethical capitalism, which is virtually the same discussion a few years ago regarding Bain Capital/Clear Channel/Rush Limbaugh.

From the article:

“Would cutting back Limbaugh’s salary completely solve Clear Channel’s financial woes? No. But there is something bizarre about Clear Channel going out of its way to so dramatically overpay the host while the rest of the company suffers through the throes of a depression. It would be like the bankrupt Tribune Co. paying its Chicago Tribune editor millions annually while the newsroom got decimated by wave after wave of layoffs.”

The republican party has thrown its lot in with the democrats.

They have decided they are comfortable being just another division of the Big Government party.

Once again they are counting on patriots and conservatives to vote republican as the lesser of two evils.

They would rather help Barry drive conservatives out the door than stand up for America.

I agree. You’ll probably want to read my reply to another FReeper just above this post. It pretty well explains things as I see it.

Let’s hope that isn’t the case this time.

I am. Hopefully, the majority of voters feel the same.

Does it matter? No.

It matters if you're Rush Limbaugh, which was my point. And my only point.

The country changed drastically when the failed Mercantilist Whigs became the crappy Repubs and denied the States right to succession. Followed by 600,000 deaths and 10 years of military occupation. It is past time for the end of the GOP!

“We are screwed. The Tea Party did not take over the Republican Party....they destroyed us.”

I think the poll results of last spring that indicated the TEA party did not support Medicare cuts doomed the TEA party.

When 70% of TEA party members cannot fathom that cuts to medicare are not only necessary, but are inevitable, then the TEA party is not in a good spot.

Newt and Santorum

You're living in a different universe if you think Neut and Santorum are "real conservatives" They are anti-gun bigger government Republicans kind of like Romney, but without as much support from the GOP "leadership." Bachmann and Palin actually were conservative, and Cain was a big business country club republican with one really bad idea (adding a national sales tax WITHOUT FIRST getting rid of the income tax.)

Welcome to the United Soviet States of America..where the Pravda State Media “vet” the candidates to the pleasure and needs of the RinoCrat UniParty.

This “election” will be a non-election...featuring the state approved “candidates”-whose only distinction is whether they are black or white.

IMHO...FWIW...psyops are being used against flyover country....and the Tea Party...

Why did you include Rush in your GOP Establishment, bailouts = capitalism, did you not listen to the show yesterday?

What has Rush ever said that disparages the T.E.A. Party?

Now, the idea that Romney is some big capitalist, I have to take issue with that. Did not Romney support TARP? What was TARP?

He doesn’t get the fact we know that there are times where capitalism exceeds it’s limit and becomes socialism for the few.

Rush was never in favor of TARP or other forms of government bailouts, or the manipulation of free-market enterprises.

Nothing, but because some have declared Newt, of all people, as Tea Party, Rush disparaged the Tea Party.

Dats how it verks. LOL
