Good for Santorum!
I despise Mitt Romney so much that it pains me to say this-especially since Perry & Newt are my top two choices at this point-but I am thoroughly disgusted that they would jump on this anti-capitalism bandwagon. There are SO many legitimate things to hammer Romney over! Why do they choose to imitate Michael Moore?
I’ve read about Romney’s record at Bain and to me it doesn’t look like anything he needs to apologize for. Looks to me like Bain turned around some companies (around 10 deals out of a total of 77 that made big turnarounds) and there were some deals that went bad. Overall, the investors made nice returns, and some companies got rebuilt, creating jobs in those industries.
My gosh, if I of all people am feeling sympathy toward that socialist flip-flopper over this, I just have a feeling this is going to backfire on Newt & Perry and Romney’s gonna come out stronger-at least with GOP primary voters. Which means we’re totally screwed, cause we’ll have Mitt going into the general, where he’ll run as the Democrat-lite and proceed to get clobbered by the real Democrat in the race.
Romney has sunk from 43 to 41 to 40 to 39 to 35 to 33 over the last six days. These are two day rolling averages so the numbers are actuallt worse, iow to sink from 39 to 35 on a two day average you must poll at 31. I think he will bottom out tomorrow at around 28/29%. Paul, Huntsman, and Gingrich have been the beneficiaries while Santorum has faded one or two points. Unless the polls are wrong, which they frequently are in NH, these results will not shake the campaign up and all will survive.
Flip flopping on capitalism, I was for capitalism before I was against it.
Agreed. Newt and Perry using the Michael Moore attack line just threw this round to Romney. If Rick Santorum does well in South Carolina and Florida, though, we could still have a horse race.
