Sarah Palins husband is endorsing Newt Gingrich for president, Todd Palin told ABC News today.
But Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and John McCains 2008 Republican running mate, has yet to decide who is best able to go up against Barack Obama, Todd Palin said.
Palin said he has not spoken to Gingrich or anyone from the former House speakers campaign. But he said he respects Gingrich for what he went through in the 1990s and compared that scrutiny in public life to what Sarah Palin went through during her run for the vice presidency.

I agree in that I think this is Sarah’s roundabout way of boosting Newt without having to endorse herself at this point.

No matter what anyone thinks of Todd Palin.
He can’t be dumber than Biden.

She’s a paid commentator. She editorializes. That’s not the same as being a ‘journalist’ or analyst. She can and will endorse when the coronation is over and there’s no risk to her.

“She is CLEARLY NOT for Romeny.
Sarah Palin has always been one of us.
She wants a fighter to take it to Obama and a fighter whos withstood smears, lies and vicious attacks and knows how to fight back.
Election 2012 is no time for a compromising wussy.
Newt Gingrich has the radical solutions necessary to save and restore our Republic.
I also think Perrys policies come close and Santorum would be all right too. He can fight.
STOP ROMNEY!
GO NEWT!”
100% right on! Fight on!

To: americanophile
Okay that sounds about right I guess but why are people playing along with the MSM in thinking Palin’s husband endorsed anyone;when he didn’t?
To: editor-surveyor
Why do you say that? Todd endorsed Joe Miller ahead of Sarah’s eventual endorsement of him in 2010.

Did you miss the first line of the excerpt? It says flat out it was an endorsement.
Maybe you're unhappy he endorsed someone other than your choice of candidate.

To: Dubya-M-DeesWent2SyriaStupid!
Because it's tantamount to an endorsement. Just like George H.W. Bush didn't ‘officially’ endorse Romney, but if one goes out of their way to make laudatory comments about someone, it's effectively an endorsement because it's made within the context of a competitive primary.

Evangelical denotes a style as much as a set of beliefs.
As a result, groups as disparate as black Baptists and Dutch Reformed Churches, Mennonites and Pentecostals, Catholic charismatics and Southern Baptists all come under the evangelical umbrella-demonstrating just how diverse the movement really is.
Praise the Lord!

It means that it was for his wife basically, so I see little Christian committment in it. Wrong reason.

After his wife being in politics for 20 years and both of them campaigning nationally for approaching 4 years, and his wife being the most attacked, reviled conservative in American history, I don’t think that I would describe Todd and his intimate cooperative media relationship with his wife’s political image as one of being a neophyte with the media.

(Romney is unquestionably the weakest party front-runner in contemporary political history.)
