I should have said 20 points. 40 would be excessive. I think either side could nominate just about anybody and not lose by more than say 25 points. The democrats base is easily firmer than ours though. They could nominate Cynthia McKinney and still carry most major cities with a supermajority.

I wish he was President in 1933 then. Right now there is much that needs to be done or undone as the case may be.
