I love it when the pagans in the MSM attempt to share their penetrating insight into evangelicals. it’s always a riot.
I’ll take the “moral” one, thank you very much.
We have all done things we regret in life, some of us have been caught, others have been lucky and haven't been. But to pretend that some are without sin and are thus more “moral” because they have been lucky enough not to have been caught or to have had their particular failings covered trumpeted from the rooftops by the media is ridiculous.
Who's to say that Romney or everyone else on that stage hasn't had an affair? I'd say there is a good chance that everyone on that stage has had an issue in their marriages at some point in time, it's just that they obviously were able to work through it and keep their marriage together and to keep it from going public.
“Character matters, and that will haunt Gingrich.”
It shouldn’t...if Christians practice what they preach.
How often must we forgive ... particularly when another sinner has repented?
“Noah was a mean drunk,”
??? Wow must be a modern translation they are reading.
LOL. You are right. I started reading this and kept thinking who the heck are they talking about? I guess this reporter’s job is to explain those crazy Christian zealots to their urban readers. Most of the Lib urban readers are probably still afraid that if they drive through the Bible Belt and break down, they will be shot or raped by a bunch of Bible-toting Hillbillies.
I’ll take the moral choice.
I’ll take the “moral” one for saint. You know, the one that drove with his family dog on the roof of his car, and later laughed it off. For president, I’ll take the brainy conservative one.
During the period of the Judges of Israel, when God’s people turned to him and pled for help, he would choose a man (or, in one case, woman) to lead them to restoration.
Very often, that man was one of questionable character and feet of clay.
Let us all remember that the Lord God Jehovah is able to do anything He wants through whomever He chooses.
Humbly pray that this time he sends us the leader we need, not, as in 2008, the one we deserve.
The underpinning of the article is that romney is electable... or the most electable, or something like that. And, they provide no evidence to that effect. So, I guess I need to take their word that romney, as presented by the liberal media, the steponallofus’es and sawyers, npr/nyt/and the rest, is the only one that can beat zer0.
Those have been our choices since Reagan.
As in much of life, people see the coarse Newt and judge his moral failings in a more harsh way than the more refined Romney.
My personal view is that Gingrich’s roller coaster fight with morality and faith is something that I can identify with and have some degree of trust in that it is real and common, much more than the, lifelong, unbroken, thoughtless, yet dedicated proselytizer’s path of depravity and evil of Mitt Romney.
Hmm. Would I have ¨voted¨ for King David? I´m not sure.
Mitt Romney is not electable, Obama will crush him.
I will not be voting for the architect of RomneyCare which contains mandated and subsidized $50 abortions.
