Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich asked former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney to drop the pious baloney during Sundays Meet the Press GOP presidential primary debate from New Hampshire.
Romney explained to the New Hampshire audience why he was running for president and how he is business experience made him different from his fellow competitors.
For me, my career was being in business and starting a business and making it successful. My lifes passion is my family, faith and my country, Romney said.
I believe in the experiences by virtue, I have had I am in a good position to make a contribution to Washington. I long for a day instead of people go to Washington for 20 and 30 years, who get elected and then when they lose office, they stay there and make money as lobbyist, or connecting to businesses I think it stinks. I think people should go to work in Washington and serve Washington and serve as the people of their nation and go home. I would like to see term limits in Washington. As the president of the United States, if I am elected, of course I will fight for a second term. There is a lot of work to be done.
But that drew an aggressive reaction from Gingrich, who said Romneys suggestion that he hasnt repeatedly sought elective office was pious baloney.
I realize the red light doesnt mean anything to you because you are the front-runner but could we drop a little bit of the pious baloney? Gingrich said.
The fact is you ran in 94 and lost, and thats why you were not serving with Rick Santorum. The fact is you had a bad re-election rating. You dropped office. You had been out of state for something like 200 days and preparing to run for president. You didnt have this interlude of citizenship while you thought about what to do. You were running for president while you were governor. You were going all over the country, and you were out of state consistently. You then promptly re-entered politics and you happened to lose to [John] McCain as you lost to [Ted] Kennedy. Now, youre back running. You have been running consistently for years and years and years, and the idea that then suddenly citizenship showed up in your mind, and just level with the American people. You have been running since the 1990s.
LOL Gingrich speaks truth to Mitt.
A beautiful smack down, the kind no other candidate has the capacity to make.
My guess is Perry may take up to 10% in SC...and that makes a difference too. I wish they would do it e the SC vote based on what happens in N H.
If Romney gets SC too...it will not be good. Florida then becomes the next chance to stop him.
These were good/thoughtful comebacks by Rick and Newt. To see Mitt, laugh, says it all. Rommey is Bob Dole all over again. ( Bob Dole is a much nicer person IMO) Romney grooms for a long time to be president. Didn’t one of his sons even say that!? Another Obama ( me me me me) Romney cannot win. He’s hoping along with Rove, that anybody but Obama, will get Mitt in. They do not want to accept that many of the voters want real change of how our government works. If Mitt were a conservative, he could have this tied up. I am glad to see voters are wanting a conservative and a change. It gives hope in this time in which our country is out of control and needs a new direction. With Obama and the political correct politicans in the GOP doing nothing to save our country, we need someone to take on the corruption and say it like it is.
The clip in question is around the 9:50 mark.
Newt eviscerated phony baloney Mitt Romney
Perry is a five percenter but that might be all Willard needs him to be in SC. What a shame.
Oh and BTW..

Someone posted on a thread yesterday that Romney was Dole without the Viagra....still chuckling ;)
“Newt eviscerated phony baloney Mitt Romney”
Let’s face it, Mitt teed himself up, Santorum started the painting of the truth of his past, and Newt cleaned up the floor with him. Mitt is a dick! A very shallow person.
Did Newt and Mitt shake hands and hug each other all smiles after the debate?
Good advice to all of us.
I didn’t watch the debate. I didn’t even know it was on. Besides, I don’t watch Meet the Depressed. I did set my DVR to record the debate on ABC which I found accidentally though a question someone posted in Fox Nation yesterday when someone asked if they were going to watch the debate. Anyway while my DVR recorded the debate I was watching Justice with Judge Jeanine on FOX News and I switched over to ABC. My DVR then started to record Judge Jeanine. I switched then back to FOX News and then turned my TV off. This morning when I tried to watch to watch the debate I found my DVR had recorded the FOX News program, even though it said Republican debate from ABC News. I fast forwarded for several minutes and then finally deleted the recording
Best line of the whole debate. The audience loved it!
New on Twitter, @PiousBaloney
Yes I am following him/her
And then Santorum will crumble like a cheap cookie and will lose handily.
I seriously wish people would stop harboring illusions that this guy has some magic.
It was like night and day, the ABC debate last night and the one this morning.
You can see it here:

He has no magic, but he does have God.
