But, according to Keith, the delegate count is not a strict function of the caucus vote. Actually, Keith maintained it's not a function at all:
Caucuses have NOTHING to do with selection of delegates to the National Convention... that happens at the state convention. Delegates selected to the national convention are in no way selected, or committed in any way, shape, or form based on the caucus results.
My bet is the truth is somewhere in between (otherwise, why have the caucus?).

Truth: Caucuses are held to select delegates to COUNTY conventions, and select members of county steering committees, platform committees, etc. — and in presidential cycles, do a “Preference poll” of those in attendance. No delegates to national convention are awarded or apportioned based on the results of caucus voting. That fact can not be escaped, and is yet still lost on you...
I have run a business for 40 years and have had to lay off folks and close offices due to a number of various reasons, including survival.
This film could have been made by the Obama campaign and yes, it will be used by Obama to defeat ANY GOP candidate. Is Newt's venom so strong against Romney he is willing to cast the conservative movement as Socialists? After watching this film I thought it was a DNC hit piece.
This is not going to help the GOP, but then again, I guess Newt will do what ever it takes to defeat Romney or ANY OTHER CANDIDATE that is not the GOP nominee.
I haven’t heard Newt say anything good about anyone, unless of course, he refers to them as a “junior” colleague.

You still haven’t answered the question: If the caucuses have zero influence on the delegate apportionment, then why have them? Why not just pick random names off the voting list to be delegates, as if selecting jurors?

if he is the nominee. I love when he de-veins the media hacks asking snotty debate questions.
I do miss the possibility of Sarah running. I am very saddened that she opted to not run. I would not have let the media and the other forces of evil deter me. Perhaps our eventual nominee will have the guts to ask her to be VP. Newt has said good things about her and I am sure Santorum admires her also.

If Sarah is done with public office, I hope Todd might think about running one day!

Romney is a big govt elitist. He is the candidate the Left wants to run against because he is vulnerable on so many fronts,
Romney is dangerous for the country, and for the GOP.
Newt has a close to 100% rating from the Conservative Union. How he is not a conservative.
We believe in forgiveness & redemption, & Newt has acknowledged & apologized for his mistakes and asked for forgiveness.
Most politicians will do and say anything to get elected. We got one of them in the White House.
