Truth: Caucuses are held to select delegates to COUNTY conventions, and select members of county steering committees, platform committees, etc. — and in presidential cycles, do a “Preference poll” of those in attendance. No delegates to national convention are awarded or apportioned based on the results of caucus voting. That fact can not be escaped, and is yet still lost on you...

You still haven’t answered the question: If the caucuses have zero influence on the delegate apportionment, then why have them? Why not just pick random names off the voting list to be delegates, as if selecting jurors?
