Dear Mitt Romney Sellouts:
Im ready to sell out, too. Like you, Im ready to abandon my conservative principles, ignore Mitts big-government legacy and his obvious disdain for the right if it means a guaranteed winner in November.
But before I lift my conservative skirts for another H.W. Bush/Dole/McCain moderate because Im supposed to suck it up and back a winner, is it asking too much to expect the guy to, you know, win something first?
I get politics. I used to run campaigns. In fact, I ran a GOP primary in South Carolina against Strom Thurmond. Not only did I know Strom was going to win, but my candidate knew. Some races really are over before they begin, and the entire raison dêtre of Romneys campaign is Im going to win, anyway. As one of his advisers told New York magazine last month, I dont see any scenario where were not the nominee.
But if Mitt really is the inevitable winner, shouldnt he have started (to quote that great political philosopher Charlie Sheen) Duh . . . WINNING by now?
No, Mitt did not win Iowa. Winning is not getting eight more votes than a guy who, until recently, was best known as the victim of a campaign on Google to turn his last name into a disgusting sexual reference (trust me you dont want to know).
Winning is not spending 12 months and $10 million in Iowa in 2008 to get 30,021 votes, then campaigning another four years, spending another $2 million . . . and getting just 30,015 votes.
Four years ago, Romney could blame his lackluster 25.1 percent on the fact that hed never run before and faced formidable opposition: a longtime U.S. senator, a successful two-term Southern governor, a Tennessee movie star.
But this year, Romney is running against the cast of a bad TLC network reality show and hes still at 25.1 percent!
How do you go from running against McCain, Huckabee, and Thompson to running against Perry, Bachmann and Paul and getting fewer votes? When one foe is an angry former speaker whos been married three times, took money from Freddie Mac and shares a name with a Star Wars villain, you should be running up the score.
And no, dont say its just Iowa. Have you checked the latest polls? Less than 48 hours after Iowa, Rasmussens national poll had Mitt at just 29-21 over Rick Santorum. In South Carolina which has picked every GOP nominee since Reagan Romneys stuck at 20 percent and hes losing in Florida, too.
No doubt newer surveys will reflect rising Romney strength. But the fact is that Mitt vs. The GOP Klown Kar should be a cakewalk.
That is, if Mitt Romney really is a winner.
Which is why, instead of selling out, Im sitting back and watching. If Mitt really is the man to take out Barack Obama, then he should have no problem blowing out Santorum & Co. on New Hampshire home turf. He should then be able to engineer a big showing in South Carolina and a solid win in Florida, too.
When he does make that until he does Ill keep my pants on and my principles intact.
Mitt, you want my vote? Youll have to earn it. Or at least buy me a drink first.
And from what I’ve been reading, he didn’t even win by 8 votes. Seems like there was some fudging of the numbers and that Santorum was the victor.

You can put flashy wheels on a 74 Pinto but its still a ‘74 Pinto.
A mesmerizing smile and a strait shooting agenda?
Anyone for snake oil salesman Mitt? Another McCain. And damn liberal at that. He destroyed Gingrich, who was the only insider and outsider that knows how to work Washington. All the rest will not be as effective and will take many months to educate. All Washington is a cesspool and will take a very strong feisty President to move it. Pray Gingrich.
“Excellent” post, Sir ...
Romney has received the kiss of death!!!...
Being supported by Juan McLaim.............
Any to support him are basically democrats..
but even some democrats are not that dumb..
They know a real democrat as opposed to a synthetic one..
RINOs are not that smart..
If it’s Romney, a third party vote becomes necessary. Obama or Romney it makes little difference.
Obama will apoint another Marxist on the Supreme Court; Romney will apoint another David Souter who will vote with the Marxists already on the Court.
Kansas republicans should be embarrassed by the Romney vote..
They are not...
How can a man who is hated by most Conservatives even get this far? The GOP Really loves this guy. The plaid pants wing of the party is pulling out on the stops to foist this loser on us.
Mitt is a RINO...and I may have to vote for this putz but he sure in hell aint getting cash from me.
Thanks.
The article makes the point that Romney has made it this far because everyone he is running against is so stunningly incompetent in one way or another.
In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.
FYI - you mispelled Mutt.
Ping.
If you believe, as do I, that if we weaken or lose the Second Amendment which codifies and affirms our God-given right to defend ourselves and our loved ones from private AND PUBLIC — criminals, it will pretty much be OVER here, better take the time to look at these:

And lets get over this every 4-year fixation on the beauty contest known as The Presidential Race and take out more of the trash still remaining on Capitol Hill. If we elected some folks with spines and cajones, they could stop a tyrant over at 1600 dead in his tracks!
Mitt, you want my vote? Youll have to earn it. Or at least buy me a drink first.

What a host..
Im sure Willie Mitty also plans to have on hand things that will make the Moslems feel at home in the White House...
