Thanks SteelToe. College sophomores
About 10% of the students said they wanted the government to leave them alone and not tax them too much and let them regulate their own lives. But over 80% of the students said that the American dream to them meant a job, a house, and plenty of money for retirement and vacations and things like this... wanted free health care... wanted the government to pay for their tuition... wanted the government to pay for the down payment on their house... expected the government to "give them a job." Many of them said they wanted the government to tax wealthier individuals so that they would have an opportunity to have a better life... "As human beings, we are not really responsible for our own acts, and so we need government to control those who don't care about others."

If I ran a business, I would hire as many of these people as I could. Smart, self-reliant, honest, confident. Probably good workers and quick learners. They would probably be a better bet without any experience than the 90% with experience.

I’m certain that someone will have pointed it out before this post appears, but 10% and 80% don’t quite make it to 100%

“Indeed. Considering that most of the remaining 80% will become leeches whose only concern will be to eat, sleep, and worry about what’s on TV tonight, the thoughtful 10% will actually have influence far above their numbers.”

You left out the most important factor, they will also procreate. And sadly, the 80% will be busier at it than the 10% since its probably the only kind of “entertainment” besides TV they will have the means to enjoy.

“As human beings, we are not really responsible for our own acts, and so we need government to control those who don’t care about others.”

This laughable professor man teaches anarchy to mush-minded students and the 8o% of students who agree with him are future thieves, liars and politicians who will continue to steal taxpayers monies and laugh at the misfortune of Americans working for a living. First, as human beings we are very much responsible for our own acts before God and our fellow man. God created man in His own image and gave us a mind to use and strength to endure and help overcome the evil of a lost world. Unfortunately, this man believes that people are sheep and elitist thieves and liars like himself should be the shepherd of the sheep. Yet he is evil and the sheep would suffer, as Obama and the political marxist democrat left is proving this neo dictatorship administration and many Americans are suffering. Second, this fool who cares neither for God or his fellow man plans to use taxpayers monies to further a social justice program that would destroy all its enemies, namely, Jews and Christians and conservatives but would pass over murdering thieving lying democrats criminals. UGGGGGGGGGGGG!

Hopefully a few of those students just figured out how to get an A+ on their essay.

Sadly this will only get worse unless people figure out that College is not about education anymore.

These 10% are the future employers of the other 90%.

And so the Communists have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams in turning school children into communists.

Congratulations.

I keep saying that America is in inevitable decline into hard Socialism. It is not because I want to be pessimistic. It is because demographics is destiny. When most of your school children are brainwashed to “save the earth” and homosexuals and know nothing about history or economics, when your nation is colonized with huge numbers of illiterate, unhealthy illegal aliens, then your nation is short for this world in its current form.

This article is just another reason that I say “we are doomed” or “we’re fooked” or “we are screwed”.

If most children were being heavily taught the constitution, the founding principals, the work ethic, self-reliance, respect for achivers, and especially to worship God, then I would have tremendous hope for the future, that this would result in more freedom, better property rights, and less federal government tyranny. But you can see clearly the opposite is true.

We are doomed. It is obvious we are doomed. It is only a question of how fast we are doomed, and that depends on how many Obama’s George Soros and his masters or serfs can install at all levels of Federal government, or conversely, how actively the free middle class fights off the continuing loss of rights.

I see no reason to think the middle class can repack Pandora’s box. The demographics are all screaming socialism.

I respect and am grateful for the optimists saying that America’s best days are ahead, but could you please help me out and tell me why besides, “God’s will”, “we will keep fighting” or my favorite, “just because”.

We be fooked. Hard socialism is coming fast. Who is going to stop it? The GOP? Ha, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

I like “dumbist” as a valuable addition to the vocabulary. Obama is a dumbist: he believes that the American people are too dumb to survive without Democrat supervision.

A basic tenet of Dumbism: You know how dumb the average guy is. Well, half the people in the United States are even dumber than that!

We’re all dumbists now.

Freedom_Is_Not_Free said: "The demographics are all screaming socialism."

It took the Soviet Union seventy years to fail. I think that is because there was such a large percentage of the population under the czars that were better off after the revolution or who reasonably expected to be better off.

There's not going to be seventy years of "socialism" ahead for the United States. We started Social Security around 1940, coincidentally about seventy years ago, and it is failing now.

Monetary policy has destroyed the housing market and deficit spending accounts for 40 cents of each federal dollar spent. Medicare and Medicaid cannot continue in their present form. Many public pension funds are severely underfunded and the benefits cannot be paid.

I see no way whatever that the U.S. can continue its socialism for seventy years from now. I don't see how we can last another ten. There aren't going to be enough "rich people" to keep this game going. I don't worry about further dabbling in socialism. I worry about a significant percentage of our population facing starvation.

That’s scary.

Scary that these 80% vote, and may actually become lawyers and legislators some day.
