Wrong, Newt.
Any slick-talking used-car salesman, with some preparation, could out-debate Obama.
It isn’t the debate style that is important; it is what the person does after he is elected. That is Obama’s failure, if the GOP can only capitalize on it.
Obama is only an effective speaker when he is reading from a teleprompter.

The next Republican debate is going to be a live one. Newt shedding his ‘positive campaign’ act (which didn’t work) and now going after Romney in the debates will be fun to watch. I found them boring up till now.

Thanks, many times I find myself searching the channels for the debate channel at the time of the debate.
Watching Newt attack Romney will be a blast, New is definitely in a bad mood after Iowa.

Newt needs to stop acting like a spoiled petulant child throwing a tantrum because he lost and get back to running for president. His current behavior only reinforces the impression many have of him as just another elitist politician who can't stand to be questioned. For a man who said what he did regarding Paul Ryan's budget proposal, was a “historian” for Fannie Mae, and who cozies up with Nancy Pelosi on a couch, I think he should focus less at throwing stones at other Republicans and worry more about his own glass house.

Wow, predicting that Democrats will use mockery as an argument. In other predictions, the sun will rise tomorrow.

excellent post.
I am left with my short list...Santorum or Perry.
I have eliminated everyone else.

Newt needs to worry about Santorum, not Romney.
To: sheikdetailfeather
The Real problem in the debates will be the way the liberal moderators ask the questions. Just pick a subject and they will formulate it to make Romney look like an evil capitalist, versus Obama all in for Social Justice.
Long gone are the days of objective journalism.

RE :"

Maybe but since I would much rather see Santorum (who is not perfect) get the nomination than Newt, it will work better for me if Newt spends his time tormenting Romney for his own flip-flops as payback for those PAC ads.

No its not an excellent post.
Gingrich might just end up running against Obama. In which case we'd better all be praying he wins.
An excellent post wouldn't feed into the media's inevitable Obama-supporting narrative.

I’m sorry, but I’m not the media dupe you seem to think I am. In fact, the whole point is for Newt to stop feeding the media with his childish appearing vendetta against other Republicans and get back on message and on to the task of running for President against Obama. His current tirade is distracting from the core message of why it is imperative to defeat Obama.
My post hardly feeds the media’s Obama supporting narrative since I doubt it’ll be picked up by them. Newt’s doing a pretty good job of that all by himself right now. He’s doing a disservice to himself and the Republican field, and regardless of what you might think to many it looks like he’s throwing a tantrum.
To: sheikdetailfeather
Why wouldn’t he laugh? Obama debating Mitt would be like debating someone on his own, almost identical liberal record. It’ll be like watching a Democrat debate.

"Any slick-talking used-car salesman, with some preparation, could out-debate Obama." "Obama is only an effective speaker when he is reading from a teleprompter."
But we have seen Obama debate (sans teleprompter of course) and he has shown to be a fairly effective debater; generally having been given better grades than McCain. With today's tendency for style to trump substance, out-debating his opponent could give Obama a boost.
