Bauer Hints At New Walkout Over Right To Work
Republicans Adamant To Push Bill Through
UPDATED: 1:07 pm EST January 4, 2012
INDIANAPOLIS -- The leader of Indiana's House Democrats hinted Wednesday that party lawmakers may walk out for the second year in a row to oppose the same Republican "right-to-work" bill blocked last year by their five-week boycott. But some lawmakers seemed split on whether to make such a move.
House Democratic Leader Patrick Bauer told The Associated Press that his caucus planned to meet Wednesday to debate how to handle the GOP proposal that would make Indiana the 23rd state to bar businesses and private unions from mandating that workers pay union fees for representation.
Bauer led the walkout last year. But new fines and lawmakers concerned about re-election in 2012 have made the group wary of another.
Rep. Scott Reske, D-Pendleton, said he feels the $1,000 a day fine is expensive and he hinted that some Democrats might not push for a walkout.
"You don't use the same tactic twice," he said.
Rep. Craig Fry, D-Mishawaka, called a walkout "the only way" to block the bill.
Hundreds of union members packed the hall outside the room where Democrats met Wednesday afternoon and cheered each member as they walked into the caucus meeting.

How about winning an election or two?
I bet Mitch Daniels could win the nomination if he annouced a presidential bid today, despite not being on the ballot in some states.
The walk out helped their cause so much last time in the popularity contest. Let them try it again in an election year where liberal/democratic policies and ideology are so popular anyway. We only need a few more seats in the house on election day and we’ll have a quorum without any democrats there at all. Now that would be nice.
Yup. Too bad he didn’t run. He was the guy I wanted in the race because he’s a consistent conservative who actually passes conservative legislation. But some didn’t like him because he tends to focus on one set of issues at a time. Which, generally, is the only way to accomplish things anyway.
All to PREVENT a worker from actual CHOOSING if he/she wants to join a union...
If unions are such a workers paradise why not have a choice. Forced unionization should have gone out of style with Hitler.
I hate to be a ‘RAT politician and have to take all of my orders from a bunch of commie union thugs. That’s what happens when you run for office and have to put your hand out to the union thugs in order to get elected.

They don’t like losing $1000 a day
Now they see how WE feel about them taking our pay for more and more taxes all the time.
Hopefully all the Rats in Indiana have a 24 hour guard placed on them so they can’t flee the state. MAKE THEM STAY!
Go ahead Bauer, it’s an election year.
Install trackers on all their vehicles.
Hints hell, they just did it.
And WTH is Daniels lifting the new limit of people in the Capital building for? Both the fire marshal and the head of the ISP said 3k was the limit for safety’s sake.
Keep us posted.
Pleased Republicans in Indiana are doing something re:Right to Work. More than I can say for the Republican deadbeats in Missouri. RTW not even on their “Blueprint for Missouri.” Jay Nixon has them running like rabbits. Embarrassing...X 10!
Plus, the newly re-drawn representative districts in Indiana will make democrats even more vulnerable. A walk out now will be very fresh in Indiana voters in November they will take it out on the jackass party.
A quorum in the house will result. But then, that is what happens when dems listen to their jackass leader, Pat Bauer.

jack the fine from 1000 bucks a day to 5000 or 10000 dollars a day and see if they have any balls left to walk out.
