WATERVILLE, Maine The search for 20-month-old Ayla Reynolds continued on Monday as the Maine Warden Service, state and local police investigators and Federal Bureau of Investigation agents combed the area to find the girl who was last seen Friday in her fathers home on Violette Avenue.
The warden service began searching the surface and banks of Messalonskee Stream by plane, boat and foot on Monday, expanding the search area from the weekend, Waterville Police Chief Joseph Massey said during a press conference Monday afternoon.
It was logical considering [the streams] proximity to Violette Ave., Massey said, adding that the stream is just one-eighth of a mile from the home.
Massey said 75 investigators are assigned to the case, including 25 from the warden service who pushed their search to the stream.
Its very important for us to be methodical, its very important for us to follow every single lead, he said. Massey added that all groups involved in the search would continue to pour our resources in. ...

This is more up to date:
PORTLAND, Maine — A day after police declared a 20-month-old girl’s disappearance a crime, her grandfather pleaded Saturday for her return, urging anyone with information to come forward.”We’re all out here begging and pleading for the return of our baby girl, safe and sound. Call the state police,” Ronald Reynolds, grandfather of Ayla Reynolds, said outside his home.”What did they do to my little girl? What did they do to Ayla? What did they do to a helpless defenseless child?” asked Reynolds, who wore a green ribbon, the symbol for missing children. “Every day I get up and wait and wonder. Yesterday I kept looking out the window, waiting for someone to come by and tell me something.”Saturday marked two weeks since Ayla’s father reported her missing from his home in Waterville, 75 miles north of Portland. Justin DiPietro told police he saw her the night before when he put her to bed. He said she was missing from her bed on the morning of Dec. 17.

Here is her picture.
Sorry I couldn't do this all in one post, but I'm in the office alone, the IT people have gone home and I'm not very good at this posting stuff.
What a beautiful child! Prayers for her safe return.
You know Rick Santorum is right, our country is morally falling apart. It is just wrong that a 20 month old child has to be shuttled between 2 homes because her parents (who were hot and heavy, what, 30 months ago?) can’t get along.
We do really need another great awakening.
From your lips to God's ears.
A poor country preacher said to me over coffee one day.
You know, said he, if you look at the word heart, you see the word ear in the middle H ear T then he drew two ears and connected them, you know they looked just like a heart.
We need capital punishment within 30 days of conviction in cases like this.
Jesus tell us that when two or more are gathered together in His name, He is there too. We are now way past two.
Romans twelve tells us that He will deal with who ever hurts that little girl.
Prayers sent.
You are so right!
