“The irony of it is “Milty” getting the nod will only guarantee a second term for the Kenyan anyway.”

Most likely. I wonder how low the turnout would be for an Obama versus Romney ratfight. Perhaps the most important election in our history with perhaps the worst candidates, and with a depressed voter turnout.

A friend of mine thinks this will happen and that disaffection will result in O v R and a left alternative independent and a right alternative independent in a for way chaos. I just know I will never cast a vote for Romney or Obama, unless it is to throw excess baggage off of a foundering ship.

Right on!

If that's the so-called choice I'm faced with in November, and there's no decent third party candidate, I'm going to write in Sarah Palin. That's a promise.

I live in New York State, and my state's electoral votes will end up in Obama's pocket regardless. So I might as well vote for the person I feel can do the best job, even if she's not an official (R) or (D). I hope she runs third-party so I don't have to go to the trouble of a write in. But if I have to, I will.

A race between Obama, Romney, Newt and Paul would be pretty wild. Right there you have far-left, center-left, center-right and far-right, a real choice. I think there’s a good chance Obama doesn’t get more than 30% in a race like that, but he could still win with that. Since Newt has always been willing to take on the Republican establishment, I think and hope he would consider jumping on another ticket if Romney steals the nomination with a mere plurality, not over 50%.

It underscores how our voting system that allows a win with a mere plurality is a bad, non-representative system. We need a ranked-choice or instant-runoff style system that would give weight to people’s second or third choices.
