I’m hearing that the plan for Illinois Dims is to crossover in the March 20, 2012 primary and vote for Romney since they are certain that Romney will be beaten soundly by Obama.

Sounds like a plan -- I only wish the Republicans had one as good.:(
Since I heard a soundbite on the radio news from a Biden speech last month or so in which he tsk-tsked people who wouldn't vote for someone (i.e., Romney) because of his religion (it was a Boston station, so the station probably chose that one for the MA connection), I sort of assumed that should Romney get the GOP nomination, the lapdog networks would gear up with a series of "documentaries" (libspeak for "hit pieces") on Mormonism. And I don't think most Americans know much about it, though most could recognize hit pieces on Catholicism, Protestantism, Judaism because -- whether they subscribe to any of these or not -- these religions are all familiar and known, and practitioners are among their acquaintance.
Which all would make a nice complement to the revival of OWS -- Romney, of course, being the Wall Street candidate; we all know Obama is Wall Street's pick (whether by ideology or the need to pay "protection"), but the MSM is about as likely to report that as they are to make Larry Sinclair the star of the Sunday talk shows.
Add to that the fact -- undeniable -- that Romney simply does not excite the base, which means a lackadaisical turnout. Not that they don't mean to vote, but bad weather, extra errands, traffic tie-ups -- they won't make the extra effort.
Which is bad for the down-ticket offices. Even if the hoped-for Dem/moderate voters are inclined to Romney, how likely are they to vote Republican for the other offices?
