"How weak is the GOP field?"
Where do you come up with this nonsense? The GOP field is stronger than ...
Still standing:
- A former one-term 4-year governor on his 2nd try for the presidency
- A couple of multi-term representatives with no executive experience, one of whom has been called 'flakey' and the other has been called a 'nutcase'
- A resigned former speaker of the House who basically walked away from his last elective position over a decade ago
- A former senator who lost his last election by a landslide, half a decade ago
Yeah, that line up is a powerhouse.
The only one with any substantial executive experience is Perry, and he is challenging Gingrich for 5th place in IA.
Agree. Hark back to the Dem field in 2008. That was a weak field. And who emerged was a first time senator/community organizer who had no record of achievement or executive experience and a former first lady who parlayed her fame and husband's influence to become the senator from a state she never lived in before. And now we are suffering the consequences of having an incompetent, inexperienced Marxist in the WH.
The current Rep field has three governors (2 former and one sitting), the former Speaker of the House, a former Senator, and two sitting members of the House. How is that considered to be a weak field? Unfortunately, the Dems and the MSM have been playing Whack-a-Mole with the Rep candidates and conducting in-depth investigations of each of the candidates, something they never did with Obama. Of course, that is the Dem strategy, i.e., to focus on the Rep candidate and not on Obama and his record and policies.
