The ultimate solution for me was to drop fox completely. roger ailes and rupert murdoch are no better than david axlerod or james carville.

Juan Williams, BOR or DBM wannabe Chris WAlllllass.

And Kristol, AND Whoraldo, AND freaking Schlepper Smith. (actually Wahn offends me the least as he usually serves as a punching bag)

Thanks, rodguy911 for saying that.

I’ve griped constantly about Fox news for weeks because of their obvious slant for Romney, but they are still my go to station for news.

Because, they are fair and balanced. they do show the liberal side on most issues, which is annoying, but on the whole they do the best job of the news stations.

Now I have to go call them and give them hell for ignoring Perry.

Still hunting for something, someone, somebody, somewhere....

Which is why we need a brokered convention, where no candidate has enough delegates to come into the convention with the nomination locked in.

Long angry primary seasons are good for the Democrats, because they have nothing else to do anyway. Republicans have jobs and commitments, and selecting the Presidential candidate in February because of some primaries is bad for America. It's time for the normal people to be represented in the electoral process, not just the amoral scalawags who make a living from politics and government money.

Time mag is not a very convincing source here.

Newt is my guy so don't get me wrong. But you have to admit its odd for a candidate as experienced as Newt to find all his staff leaving him while he goes on a cruise with the wifey at a seemingly crucial time in the race.

Just last night when the ball dropped in NY... Megyn Kelly was telling all of us that were watching the New Years celebration in Times Square that the economy was getting better... unemployment had made the turn around and that job markets were coming back... and that 2012 will be a great year... all she left out was the part about fox helping to reelect obama. I despise the entire channel.

Other than Newt and Romney we have a rather thin resumed group running for potus. Any of them,by the way, would be a thousand times better that zero. But, for pubbies they are a thinly qualified group.Probably a sign of the times. Who wants to go through years and years of being demonized as a Republican by the far left press and a the now socialized far left Demoncrat party hellbent on destroying America..

Newt will correct many of the recent horrific mistakes currently implemented by Zero. Time Magazine at the time gave Newt credit for balancing a budget that only he was able to do while in office.

Newt is a visionary leader and has experience in correcting the corruption in Washington. Newt is anti-establishment and that's why the RINO’s in the beltway are trying to keep him from being the nominee.

His campaign staff is on track now and it would be even better if other capable, seasoned and LOYAL political gurus would join his team. Those on McCain's team weren't loyal to Palin. We need CONSERVATIVES.

Good morning. Happy 2012 New Year, everyone!

Thanks to you, Alas Babylon, for hosting this long running tradition!

What happened to the talk shows this morning? Are all the usual Liberals nursing coke hangovers and are McLame and Grahmnesty sleeping in late today? It is mostly "good guys" on this morning as the Iowa Circus rolls on!

As usual, bray, you're providing valuable weekly insight by talking about America Idle while most of the rest of the political universe is gaga talking about the latest Lamestream Media managed political 3-ring show of American Idol! Thank you for your perspective. It is nice to see not everybody is chasing the rabbit.

How much longer our Constitution can survive the corrupt underbelly of Liberalism and burgeoning political criminality (but, I repeat myself) and what needs to be done about it should be foremost in everybody's hearts and minds this year - as I'm sure it is to most reading and posting here. This is shaping up to be the most pivotal year in American history since 1861. We will either survive - or we won't. It has come down to that.

I suppose by this time next year, we will know for sure if the Mayans got it right or simply ran out of room on their stone calendar. We will also know if we got it right or will continue skidding downhill into national apocalypse.

Interesting point of view about health care, but could only be handled by private insurance, not by Obamacare.

Mark Steyn thinks obamacare is the most destructive thing for America of all the issues right now. His theory being (and I agree) that once people are given something, it’s really hard to take it away from them.

But as far as insurance for homosexuals is concerned, I think that could well be taken into account regarding premiums. They do, knowingly, engage in a lifestyle that causes health problems and shorter lifespans.

However, then one gets into the issue of other unhealthy behaviors, smoking, being morbidly obese, etc. until you get down to nitpicking my martini.

Then you’ve stopped preaching and gone to meddling.

This remark has nothing to do with candidates... but you hit on something. Most of us have come to the realization that our government can no longer be trusted on any level... they lie daily... and conspire and murder (Fast and Furious) for power and wealth.

Let me be clear that I do so agree with you.

Too often I read excoriation about FNC here on FR but, even though I criticized Chris Wallace upthread, with a lengthly and, I thought, honest explanation, I feel that FNC is still the only news outlet that gives the truth without an agenda. Such as, oh, I dunno, NBC’s former affiliation with GE....that sort of thing.

It’s just that it’s got to be difficult for a Wallace, for example, with a very liberal type father to boot, to keep from doing the same sort of stuff his colleagues do on MTP, CNN....definitely MSNBC. The Bob Scheiffers and the like is what I’m saying here.

FNC audiences take C. Wallace to task and he has to react unlike his bought and paid for colleagues. Witness the recent M. Bachmann snafu, calling her a FLAKE. The viewers of Bob Scheiffer, he who lives in a close trashcan for his knowledge of the world, would have never have reacted to such a terribly-phrased question. They’d have nodded affirmative, they always knew Bachmann was a flake, Scheiffer just confirmed it.

There’s no doubt that judges have way too much power.

Still, though, I can’t see Newt’s solution as being a good one. Judges should be free of political fears when they make decisions.

I do like Rick Perry’s idea much better, which is term limits for judges.

Anytime you give anybody lifetime appointments, it’s dangerous. This is true in baseball or any sport.

There has to be some incentive to do one’s best.

Not only Hannity—Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin count Santorum among the only three conservatives running—the other two being Bachman and Perry. The other candidates are either nuts or proggresives.
The pair have said repeatedly they like Santorum so if you add Hannity’s near endorsement that's the number 1,2,and 3 most popular radio programs in America who would not mind a Santorum presidency.
Pretty impressive dontcha think?
