Joe Kennedy Once Again Cozies Up To Hugo Chavez, And Once Again Mack Says Enough Is Enough

And once again, Congressman Connie Mack (FL-14), Chairman of the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee and Congress’ leading critic of Chavez’s dictatorship, has admonished Kennedy for continuing to publicly laud the Venezuelan strongman.

Mack stated: “It’s beyond shameful that Joe Kennedy continues to line his pockets with a salary from CITGO and use our nation’s less fortunate as a PR mechanism for Hugo Chavez. If Joe Kennedy really wanted to help those who need it, he should support the building of the Keystone XL Pipeline from Canada and the 20,000 good-paying private sector jobs that would result from it.”

It is why liberals constantly use academia (truly stupid academia who can be manipulated by the purse strings of grants & stipends to say what is needed) to push their “more intelligent” ends, always with an eye to their greater power and lining their pockets in the bargain. To be fair to the prior poster, along with this manipulation comes groupthink narcissism of stupid liberals, who are then consoled by their “superior” knowledge as exhibited by the “science” they say support them. Yes, Joe readily admits that he pulls a nice salary from his non profit.

Joe Kennedy started Citizens Energy Corporation and paid himself a modest salary, which wasn't enough to maintain his lifestyle, so he turned over the reins to his brother Michael and ran for Congress. Michael was a dirtbag in the Kennedy family style but, unlike a typical Kennedy who just leeched off of the family name, he was a very good businessman. It was he who turned CEC into a successful business and raised the salary for running it so high that Joe left Congress after Michael was killed so he could make his fortune as the head of CEC. So Joe is now back to doing what Kennedys do best -- living off of the efforts of others.

The connection to chicago politics was through his purchase of the Chicago Merchandise Mart. Another really annoying fact is that he was first head of the Securities and Exchange Commission— a thief to catch a thief, or so FDR said.

It is much easier to think of this family as a criminal enterprise involved in government. And like all political family dynasties, they have an end. Somehow the real people of free America survive all the political family machinations (kennedys,bushes), despite continual generational theft of their earnings.

The overwhelming majority of Irish immigrants to the U.S. were Catholic, both on a numbers basis and because Ulster (the primarily Protestant area) wasn't hit as hard by the Famine (due to differences in the land tenure laws and more varied agriculture). My people mostly came over in that earlier wave or were very much later (1860s), although on my father's mother's side there are some Great Hunger-era immigrants with Irish rather than Scots names (but they got out early and moved west quickly, so were not the stereotypical Irish immigrant of the 1840s). They went straight back to farming as soon as they got here, so they had few pretensions to gentility.

The whole clanjamfry of them were a contradiction -- they farmed always, but sent younger sons to college (my gg grandfather was University of GA Class of 1843 in Civil Engineering). And by the time anybody was paying attention they were all Methodist or Baptist, with a few Episcopalians. Not a Presbyterian in the bunch. Not sure where that fits in the social scheme of things.

This will be a bit long, since it isn't clear from the posting. CITGO is owned by PDV America, Inc., an indirect WHOLLY OWNED subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., the National oil company of Venezuela-- which is NOT a private company but owned by the current government of Venezuela. That government is a lifetime brutal dictatorship of Hugo Chavez and his communist cronies (can you say Swiss bank account? The money does NOT go to Venezuelan poor, unless they are on Chavez's thug payroll).

Since Chavez is also closely aligned with Cuba, and the terrorist state of Iran as well as the narco-terrorists in nearby Colombia, it becomes RATHER much different than simply "rich people helping people in need". To try to compare this to "other oil companies", US or otherwise, completely misses the connections or the point of interfering from US national policy and the threat from Iran (nuclear and oil supply). This is pure obamanista statist oil money (BP is included in THAT lot)to help the neo-socialist agenda. While it is true Chavez ships oil to the US-- to/from his OWN refinery, taking advantage of all that entails, that is--he is buying political sway through this outfit run by ultra lefties.

Here's how it works (in MA): The Citizens Energy Oil Heat Assistance Progam (in MA) is a joint "effort" of Citizens Energy Corporation, CITGO Petroleum, Massachusetts fuel oil dealers, fuel assistance agencies, and the MASSCAP Directors Association. The "poor" get a one time delivery of 100 gallons heating oil for free.

Only it's NOT for free. The entire operation is a tax dodge, for the non profit, the distributors, CITGO and most especially MASSCAP Directors Association (the purely political machine, underwritten by this scheme-- part of the kennedy machine). The US Federal govt. subsidizes this through a program for the "poor" in the state, administered by MASSCAP's member organizations as the clearing houses. It is MASSCAP that is the liberals dream machine organizations. The template for the teddy machine (and certainly deval patrick).

So, you, me and every taxpayer is SUBSIDIZING Hugo Chavez for his "charity" and paying a large salary to one greedy little leftie- Joe Kennedy. As of 2010, Kennedy's Citizens Energy CEO salary was $596,988 per year! This for a former congressman who has a FULL pension- again from US Taxpayers, and a lifetime kennedy family trust paying him. A nice sweet bigtime self righteous SCAM.

Hopefully this explains why this is WRONG? Connie Mack is acting in the interest of the US, away from the Saudis, the Iranians and certainly that asshat Chavez. Joe Kennedy is a liberal fascist, lining his pockets. The answer is to stop the democrat driven welfare subsidies-- then you'll see how "charitable" Chavez is with OUR own damned money. And maybe then Joe Kennedy will lift his head up from his free cocaine as he "helps" the poor for their voting bloc machine. Deo Vindice.
