DEERFIELD BEACH One bullet went through his belly and lodged in his pelvis, while a second sliced through his chest and out his shoulder. Yet another grazed the back of his skull.
Shot and wounded while chasing thieves on foot, Lt. Col. Karl Trenker said he did what he had been trained to do as a 29-year veteran of the U.S. Marines with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"Running with bullet holes wasn't working out well, so I plugged them up with my fingers," Trenker said Friday.

One tough ass Marine.
I’ve seen people horribly injured, and I can say that the desire to live is always powerful.Thank God he made it.

Exactly. I went to the link, and sure enough there they were.....three Amish who were just trying to spread the wealth, as is the goal stated by 0bummer.
Three questions.
1. How can you possibly think three black guys wanting to look at your gold necklace is not a setup??
2. Did he get the necklace back?
3. Did he wash his hands before he stuck his fingers in the wounds?

Not so powerful that he had the intelligence to avoid the situation in the first place.I’m trying to think what would make me go to an unknown apartment complex with my kids in the car to hawk jewelry. You don’t get a medal for being stupid, and then being lucky enough to live through your mistake.

Yes, CalvaryJohn, I agree with you - the situation is mostly self made and it doesn’t look like he used good judgement.
I had kind of figured he may have been in a ‘street confrontation’, but he drove himself to an area I definitely wouldn’t let the sun set on me - AND yes, ye of little faith, there are generally signs of what you are getting into. Especially in FL where one is allowed to protect oneself.
When I make a ‘delivery’ to a ‘questionable’ area, sorry, the recipient is going to come to me, not me to them - You come to MY office, where I am in full self defense mode.if the situation doesn’t look right you either come outside or I go about my business.
RWA, I can see the networks rolling out the ‘experts’ telling us NOT to try the finger plug unless you are in an ‘operating room’.
Notice some of the newscasts with the “Man in the Street’ interview after a situation. I swear, last evening on local news of a high jacking the reporterette said “The locals were amazed of the events that took place here” and they stuck a mike in some drivers face and the ‘comment’ was - “Wow. Really Gosh” then on to the next ‘eye witless report’.
