A drastic departure from his usual image as a stoic, policy-drive candidate, Gingrich cried more than once in recalling how even today he still cries when he sings Christmas carols. GOP pollster Frank Luntz asked the tear-evoking question.
"I get teary-eyed everytime we sing Christmas carols," he said, starting to choke up. "My mother sang in the choir and loved singing in the choir. And I don't know if I should admit this, but when I was very young she made me sing in the choir and we had pictures of me at a very young age singing in the choir."

Does Romney celebrate Christmas to himself?
I daresay that most of the "songs" that Mitt remembers or still sings today is those like "Praise to The Man," and it's NOT referring to Jesus.
Hang in there, Newt. SC and FL are waiting for you and your passion!
Gingrich savvy enough to get free air time while Faygo Paul and RINO Romney put out 9 million in negative attack ads on Gingrich.
Non network polls showing that Newt is running close to Romney in Iowa, Undecideds breaking for Gingrich....30% undecided.
The Gingrich Comeback is on.
I get teary eyed when the dog dies in the movie.
Maybe, but crying doesn’t work, Newt.
I get teary eyed when the dog dies in the movie.
ya know..they don’t actually die. ;)
Frank Luntz makes me want to puke.
Does he weep when he hears ‘Dancing Queen’? ;)
What’s so surprising? Don’t all Republican Speakers cry?
Oh please. While I was prosecuting, I’d cry before a jury if it called for it.
Not impressed. Don’t care.
Fox news has been stumping for Romney nonstop as well so bashing Newt and Perry too. What a shame. Fox just interviewed Newt and quoted Peggy Noonan saying Romney is more reasonable and Newt scares everyone. Newt answered by saying it is a perfect example of the establishment and what they represent. If we want more of the same, vote for Romeny. If they want a booming economy and big change vote for Newt.
Visions of crybaby Boehner dancing in my head.
You know, when you think of how little money Newt has campaigned with so far, He’s got what it takes to help control SPENDING IN OUR GOVERNMENT. Now take Mitt the Money Maker (ever want to see the truth about Mormonism see THE GODMAKERS -if you can find a copy), has thrown tons of $$$ to put down others, yet he just is not the candidate with the vision, the passion, and the values for Conservatives.
“Maybe, but crying doesnt work, Newt.”
Maybe it was not cynical tear play but genuine emotion. I don’t know that I will vote for Newt but why assume fakery when a man expresses grief over the loss of his mother? We aren’t machines.
I get teary eyed when the dog yarks on the carpet!
I thought it was touching, it even made me a little teary-eyed.
Seriously, if people can’t see that Newt is the right man for this moment in time, they are blind and deserve everything that is about to happen to them and the world.
Humbled men cry in church, especially during Christmas and Easter.
I think Christians will appreciate his honesty.
