A Wake County sheriffs deputy shot and killed a couples 3-year-old dog Wednesday night while searching for a runaway teenager.
John and Linda Super say two deputies came to their home on King Circle, looking for a 15-year-old neighbor who had run away and had often spent time with them.
One of the couples dogs, Elvis, forced his way out the front door and ran outside as the couple talked to the deputies, they said. One of the deputies shot Elvis twice, including once in the back of the head, killing him, according to the Supers.
All weve got is a dead dog and a lot of questions that need answers, Linda Super said. (Elvis) came running out, never bothered a soul, never opened his mouth, never woofed or nothing when he came out the door.
Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison said the deputy, Roderick Belfield, said the dog was barking and running towards him. Belfield will not be punished for shooting the dog.

Harrison said he is investigating whether Belfield or the other deputy, Kenneth Edward Kay, used profanity while subduing John Super, who was upset after the shooting. John Super says the deputies were rough with him.
One of the runaway teen's guardians said Elvis was "vicious" and had lunged for the deputy, something the Supers dispute
(Elvis) was my fourth child, Linda Super said. He was like the center of our lives.

Nope, don't talk to cops.......period.....
Sometimes I wonder what is wrong with me, then I see someone like you and realize that I’m probably okay. You might be okay as well, but I don’t want to find out.
Why, the only idiots that I have know that would own such a POS are druggies, or trailer park trash.
I have done plenty of soul searching and studying and I know I am okay. It’s the rest of the world that’s on the crazy train wanting to go as fast as possible off the cliff.
Only the public pays - with taxes and lives for actions of incompetent cops. Why is that?
Actually it looks like - and evidently is - a Boxer.
You just showed exactly why “breed bans” are bad.
In some ways I don’t blame the cops, but at the same time, I marvel how many are scared to death by dogs and further, just shoot them. Seems to me cop school should include some instruction on the typical behavior of dogs (they are, after all, natural guards - but often it stops at alarm-calling unless you provoke them further) and when to REALLY be afraid.
>That looks like a pitbull.<
It looks like what it is, a brindle boxer. Boxers get mistaken for pit bulls fairly often.
>The deputy broke the pit-bull down with the first round and put him out of his pain with the last one. Common sense 101.<
Except the brave deputy was not facing a pit bull. He killed the family’s pet boxer which simply ran out the door.
Common sense? Not quite.
Frankly, as are you and most people here assuming like crazy.
You are assuming the dog did NOT “attack”, while there is no hard evidence, just several conflicting hearsay stories. You’ve also been assuming it’s suspicious that the dog was ALLEGEDLY (we know how reliable early reports are) shot in the BACK of the head, because surely that means the dog wasn’t attacking, even though it was 1 of TWO shots. Which could mean anything. The head-shot blabbers have been going on about this as if it was the only shot. (Meanwhile, org. is assuming they “put him out of his misery” with that shot, while there is nothing in the article to support this.)
Never mind the Pit-Bull Terrier assumptions going on (Boxer, more likely - as an alleged neighbor chimed in).
Way too many assumptions going on here. People are way too glib about just exactly what happened - based on their own pre-conceived notions and prejudices.
If John Q. Citizen is supposed to consider a police dog as an equal to a police officer
why do the police consider John Q. Citizen’s dogs to be a disposable nuisance?
I actually hate to think what my reaction would be if one of my dogs were shot like that. The second shot would quite possibly have to be in my direction.I wouldn’t blame the cop either, because he would be in zero doubt about my intentions.
We’re not assuming that the police shot the dog when all they did was stop to ask questions.
Surely avoidable with a few less steroids.
You got that right.
Fascist.
You’re a moron.
You really need to read up on the facts of the case. It was NOT a no-knock warrant. It was NOT the middle of the night. It was a VALID search warrant. He THREATENED them with an assault rifle. A tragedy to be sure. And maybe the warrant was obtained on shaky grounds, but the SWAT unit serving the warrant didn’t know that. Beyond the validity of the warrant, SWAT had been briefed that Guerena was considered armed and dangerous. I think the whole thing stinks but the SWAT officers at the door were rightfully defending themselves.
I may have muffed a few of the facts in my correction rant. But if you think one of our war vets dying in gunfire - because the cops got the wrong house and had no damn business being there in the first place - and he reacted naturally by trying to defending himself, then you are still wrong about him being killed for a GOOD reason? What a moronic statement that was.
Video of the raid:

The whole thing stunk to high hell, and still does.
“- and he reacted naturally by trying to defending himself, then you are still wrong about him being killed for a GOOD reason? What a moronic statement that was.
I could say,”See my previous post” but I’ll give the short version again;
It was NOT the wrong house. They had a valid search warrant for THAT house.
The search warrant meant they HAD business there.
The men with POLICE stenciled on their chests, the MARKED police cars, the siren, the officer banging on the door shouting, “Police. We have a warrant, open the door!” all should have been clues to the wife it was the police outside. By the way, all of the above is supported by the video. I say he was shot for a good reason because pointing an assault rifle at a SWAT team IS a good reason for them to shoot you.
I know your hatred for the police probably blinds you to fact but you should take a look at this thread. Be warned most of the people posting ARE police:
