To: Lonesome in Massachussets
I’ve always found Meryl Streep to be one dimensional. To borrow from Dorothy Parker, her emotions ran the gamut from A to B.

I disagree. What makes Streep, IMO and exceptional actor is that she doesn’t over act when the role doesn’t require it. There is the subtly in her acting that makes it so good. Not that she is not capable of playing over the top characters, but even when she does, like in the character in the Devil Wears Prada, there is a subtle underlying depth that very few actors today can carry off so well.

I may not like her politics but I can respect her craft.

I go back to that old joke about, "Have you ever lied about liking a Meryl Streep movie to get a date?" (Guilty, The French Leiutenant's Woman. My date was not impressed, though I got laid anyway. There were no subsequent dates.)
