"If Romney were to be the Republican candidate and lose to Obammy it would prove to EVERYONE that the Republican Party is dead. It would force the RINO establishment to realize the truth."

Looking through the comments, I don't find that to be true. I did not come here as a Romney supporter, but my candidate is not catching fire and I am looking seriously at who might be electable. I have tried hard to believe in Newt, but he just can get me to sign on. He makes some very good points and then does things like today saying we need training programs for everyone who draws unemployment. No matter how good he sounds one day, he seems to revert back to big government the next.

My brand of conservatism seems to be pushed to the back of the line time and time again, But I am fearful of letting my sensibilities got there to. So, if a third party candidate or a move to not vote gets going, it will be interesting to share our thoughts as we all go down together, won't it?

Why is that a bad thing? I don’t understand why conservatives balk at reforming liberal programs and making them more conservative. Job training could get people off unemployment and back out into the economy, retrained for jobs that businesses need. If done right, this is an upfront investment that saves us money down the road. Maybe it could also be funded by the business community. Status quo on some of these social programs is not good, but programs like this are not going away anytime soon, at least I don’t think any other candidates are saying they’re going to abolish unemployment.
