Gingrich: Every Reason to Believe Obama Born in U.S. (Avoids Natural Born Citizen)
Fox News ^ | December 29, 2011 | Joy Lin

Posted on 12/29/2011 4:22:24 PM PST by Smokeyblue

Newt Gingrich routinely fields questions during his campaign stops and during the event showcasing Art Laffer's endorsement, a woman who had been sititing on stage behind him asked Gingrich for clarification about President Obama's country of birth.

SNIP

"All I can report is the state of Hawaii has certified that he was born there," Gingrich continued.

Gesturing to his wife beside him, he said, "We both were with a taxi driver one day who showed us the hospital. There is every reason to believe he is a citizen of the United States. The fact that he's already a terrible president, we don't have to go beyond that and try to find something beyond that."

“the Republican candidates should stay away from the subject as the LSM will only label them as kooks.”

Do you think we will always be subjugated and controlled by the LSM, or will we defeat them one day?

The LSM, like other businesses, is made up of people who work for a living. Once enough of these aged dinosaurs disguised as media conglomerates and newspaper chains go belly-up for loss of revenue, then they will fire those who lose viewership/readership and change.

I think it is vitally important for Republicans to take the White House, the Senate, and expand our presence in the House of Representatives. Office seekers must concentrate on what they have to do to be elected - convince the electorate that they, and not the Democrats, have the plan that will turn the contry around if elected.

In the meantime, there are people working all across the nation to challenge the eligibility of BHO2 to be on a national ballot. It is at the state level that he can be stopped. People there have to respond to the local voters who put them in office and not all state government officials, unlike those in New Hampshire, are in the tank for a Marxist-Leninist Democratic candidate.

I agree with you and Levin and Obama.

Obama is a natural born Kenyan Citizen.

I agree with both Michelle and Hussien. Kenya is his home country.

I would think that as an attorney, you would understand that a generalization leaves room for exceptions - thus a sweeping generalization only has to be largely true - and not totally true - to be a valid use of a generalization.

Thus, my sweeping generalization is right on the money. Yes, there are exceptions, which prove the rule and not the contrary. That’s how generalizations, stereoptypes and profiles work. By definition.

Cute.
Meaningless, but cute.

Levin is correct.

You are correct.

And I can't believe these silly threads keep going and going.

Only the cold fusion ones may be sillier.

As a practitioner of the law, I have found the vast majority of pertinent legal authority to be dead people who wrote well and correctly. I am amused at your preoccupation with contemporaneous, living authority. It would be a semantic cheat, but it is tempting to ask what you think of the notion of a “living” Constitution.

Yes on the dead people, but GENERALLY SOMEONE WHO IS ALIVE AGREES WITH THEM. That's my point and I would have assumed you would have picked that up.

Thus your next snark was totally meaningless and actually, while you had not joined the "ass" category to this point, you are coming dangerously close.

I mentioned a number of contemporaries and every damned one of them is a strict constructionist. I never mentioned a single person who in any way, shape or form is a "living breathing" constitution believer. That comment was totally out of bounds and intellectually vapid and merely thrown in to be inflammatory. Success.

But - and maybe since you are not a biological practitioner you haven't thought of this - it helps to have living breathing humans to support the original intent of the Constitution. Thus my question: and I reitrate it: is there anyone who is still alive and who is a scholar of note who agrees with you? Clearly there are many Constructionists who are still alive and who are of note. Do any of them agree with you?

This is what is known as a damned valid question.

Some of us like to “sport debate” and thus we probably feed the continuance of these threads. I’ll take my share of the blame. I notice a lot of names who comment on nothing else suddenly appear. It’s like they have a network alert when these threads are up and voila! They appear.

“No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution”

Notice that is says Natural born Citizen. It doesn't say natural born Citizen of the United States. No country is specified. Obama is a natural born Citizen .... of Kenya. So he is qualified.

...their interpretation of Natural Born Citizen

What's this "interpretation" crap?

This was taught as fact, way back when I went to grade school...and again in high school.

Of course that was back when they still taught American History and economics.

When you have nothing else, riff on the screenname.

Or to use the more common saying, when you’re riffing on the screenname, you’ve already lost the argument.

Points though, for making your immaturity indisputable. If I’d publicly called you immature prior to that inanity, there may have been doubters. By resorting to such a childish tactic, you made the case yourself. A sad case, but a rock-solid case nonetheless.

The truth is cute. Its very simple.

His campaign admitted he was entitled to Kenyan citizenship until age 22.

He and his wife call Kenya his home country.

He is a natural born Citizen, just as birthers describe it. Through inheritance, he had all rights to Kenyan citizenship.

Me too, Rock.

I remember my Teacher talking about Citizen parents.

But I don't remember her talking about Kenyan Citizen parents. This whole thing has me baffled.

Ok, I get all that and it all makes sense but this constant slicing and dicing of our candidates has to stop. Gingrich can do nothing about it, his response was accurate and still left the door open for speculation. I thought he was very crafty.

If you won't even acknowledge that there are differing interpretations of what exactly a POTUS natural born citizen is, then you are simply denying reality.

Good luck.

I will provide a response to both your posts tomorrow, as I hope to clarify then what I have apparently failed to communicate this evening. But it is too late and I am so short on sleep my eyes are burning. Tomorrow then.
