Keith Olbermann, who came to Current TV this year to remake the channel and compete against his old home, MSNBC, is sitting out the biggest political nights of the season.
Despite being the biggest star on the fledging channel, Mr. Olbermann is not scheduled to anchor Currents coverage of the Iowa caucus or the New Hampshire primary in January. Instead, Currents other prime time anchors, Cenk Uygur and Jennifer Granholm, will be joined by the channels chairman, the former vice president Al Gore.
Mr. Olbermann also was noticeably absent from two special reports that Current produced after Republican debates in mid-December. Those, too, were anchored by Mr. Uygur.
These absences suggest that there may be new tension between Mr. Olbermann and the managers at Current, who are trying to create a progressive-oriented cable news channel.

LMAO.
And there was much rejoicing!!!
Not exactly fair and balanced. Possibly they hired Olbermann as their token conservative.
Olbermann , Cenk Uygur, Jennifer Granholm, and Al Gore and then Dorothy’s house......
My cable company doesn’t carry Current. Nearly every motel room I’ve stayed at the past few years (which is not that many) carried MSNBC. I have never seen Current.
Oh yeah, that guy with a cow college diploma from Cornell.

Forget him being an anchor. They need to do a reality show about him working there. I guarantee you people would watch that. Yes, even you. Al would get insanely rich.
I’m pretty sure he said it was bovine college at Cal-Tech.
At least, that’s what I remember reading.
This is laughable. This whole article is a joke on the readers. No one at MSNBC, Current or the New York Times cares a whit about IA or anything else to do with the GOP nomination.
They cover the GOP nominations process for the same reason we all studied our spelling words in grade school. It is part of the job. So Obermann is probably about as unhappy being pulled from this as you would have been had your 5th grade teacher exempted you from spelling tests.
Nope.
I am wrong. It was Cornell.
In October, Olberman averaged 46,000 viewers a night.
Algore could air re-runs of Alice and get more viewers.
Al Gore could broadcast a blank wall with paint drying and probably match Olbermann’s numbers, aka “the worst broadcaster on the planet”, lol
Can't you speak to the E channel or MTV about doing such a thing? He would rival the Khardashians.
Please freepmail me if you wish to be added or dropped from the mitten ping.

Holy moley!!! I had no idea how the cheerleader was currently drawing a paycheck. Thought she was flogging some book.
Why wouldn't there be? Apparently no one--conservative or liberal--can stand the guy.
“Despite being the biggest star on the fledging channel”
LOL- what’s a “fledging” channel??? I’ve heard of a fledgling channel- though Current TV, which has been around more than six years, is more a flailing channel....
