There are plenty of blatantly incorrect opinions about the Republican presidential primary floating around and some of them are perched in some rather prominent places...
... But none that I have seen has been more obviously and dangerously flawed than John Hawkins' column entitled "7 Reasons Why Mitt Romney's Electability is a Myth," which was recently posted at Townhall.
...And since Mr. Hawkins gave seven reasons why Romney's electability is a myth, in the spirit of conservative cooperation I offer the seven most underrated reasons that Romney is indeed the most electable Republican presidential candidate....

Romney is divisive and shouldn’t be shown.
Romney is Obama lite
Im still not convinced that hatred for Reagan drove Romney from the Republican Party, though. He was just more interested in making money in the 1980s.
Makes sense as I run in conservative circles that I would know no woman who supports liberals.
Ziegler supports Romney, I believe.
~John Ziegler
Do you agree with this?
Let’s start over.
You don’t like my supposed tone (must be read into since we are not actually talking).
You don’t like that I called you honey, you see that as crass. Could be a good point if this thread were about manors but it’s not so it’s not.
But not one no not one reason why you support Romney, so why do you support him?
How is he an attractive candidate? And why on earth would you support him just because you think I am crass and you don’t like my tone?
Come on - why do you support him?
I can tell you and have already stated some reasons conservatives would not support him.
So why do you a claimed to be conservative support him?
You say you are a thinking conservative, think of a reason and let us/me know.
I really really really would like to know how you can support this guy.
Romney is a life long liberal, it is his natural state, and it was what he was acting on in the 1980s.
Romney chose to drop his Republican party registration during Reagan’s presidency, it seems that he could do politics and keep a job at the same time.
Romney voted for Paul Tsongas in the 1992 primary, he re-registered Republican in December, 1993 to run for office, and in 1994 said this about his politics.
“I’m not a partisan politician,” he said in an interview with The Post that fall. “My hope is that, after this election, it will be the moderates of both parties who will control the Senate, not the Jesse Helmses.”
It’s John.
I didn’t bother to read it.
I stay at Bocara and the Fess Parker when I am in town. I concur, SB is not conservative...at all.
Republican primary voters will have MASSIVE buyer’s remorse if nobody tells them what Romney’s negatives are during the primary and they go ahead and nominate him. Ted Kennedy defeated Romney by 17 points in 1994, the same year Newt Gingrich swept a massive amount of Republicans into Congress and won the House for the first time in 40 years. Don’t people realize how easy it had to be for the Democrat machine to beat Romney? Kennedy didn’t even have to air all of his ads detailing Romney’s career at Bain Capital of laying people off, seeking government bailouts and sending companies into bankruptcy while collecting huge fees for himself before Romney was underwater. The DNC has been busy dusting all the old ads off to repackage for the general election.
The Democrats will also remind us that Massachusetts ranked 47th in the nation for job creation under Mitt Romney’s tenure as governor. Yet Romney’s telling us he’s the guy to fix the economy? I’m still waiting for someone to tell me what accomplishments or experience Mitt Romney has that makes him qualified to be president or likely to defeat Obama in an election. Romney lost 17 out of the 22 elections he’s run in. He was born into a privileged life as the son of a millionaire politician, so he doesn’t exactly have a compelling life story of pulling himself up by his bootstraps. In fact, Romney has never actually accomplished anything noteworthy in his life to set him apart from about a million other run-of-the-mill businessmen.
Nice places.
Not sure why I brought that into the conversation. LOL
But, when I run out of Bulgari Shampoo, Conditioner and Soap I stay the Four Seasons.
LOL
You claim that Mitt Romney is a conservative.
Prove it.
Have you even read Animal Farm?
The Young American's Foundation which owns the Reagan Ranch is located on State Street in Santa Barbara. The Ranch itself is located in the Santa Ynez Mountains and has a Santa Ynez zip code. Mail sent to the Reagan Ranch went to the Santa Ynez Post Office. Everyone from Reagan's Secret Service to his Veterinarian lived in Santa Ynez.I'm going to go with the USPS distinction as a "fact". You are just another example of why the louder and more shrill you become in your anti-Romney rants the more appealing a Romney Presidency looks to reasonable people. If you had any class at all you would acknowledge your mistake about the location of the Reagan Ranch and move on to another subject and try to rebuild some credibility.
WOW You spent a lot of time on that didn’t you.
I really wish you’d spend that much time learning about Romney. So..........
Let’s start over, tell me why a stated conservative as you have said you are would support Romney.
That is just silly. My credibility has nothing to do with the Reagan Ranch, by the way is closer to where I live than Santa Ynez but I don’t care.
RR himself referred to the ranch as being in Santa Barbara, I’ll go with what he said.
Still doesn’t matter, apparently you are now saying the you support Romney because I said that the RR ranch is in Santa Barbara.
Come on Z, why do you support Romney? The reasons you have stated so far: I am crass, I have no class, I don’t know the address of RR ranch, I am rude, I called you honey....whatever, is why you are supporting Romney. Epic fail on your part if those really are the reasons you are supporting him.
So WHY are you supporting him?
She won't answer that, she's on thin ice after having accused JimRob of being a "mormon hater" because he refused to support Romney - and she's still around but her Romneybottism is a little less overt nowadays but still very much alive as can be confirmed by her posting history.
