Mr. Paul’s Discredited Campaign
nytimes.com ^ | 12/27/2011 | EDITORIAL

Ron Paul long ago disqualified himself for the presidency by peddling claptrap proposals like abolishing the Federal Reserve, returning to the gold standard, cutting a third of the federal budget and all foreign aid and opposing the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Now, making things worse, he has failed to convincingly repudiate racist remarks that were published under his name for years — or the enthusiastic support he is getting from racist groups.

Mr. Paul, a Republican congressman from Texas who is doing particularly well in Iowa’s precaucus polls, published several newsletters in the ’80s and ’90s with names like the Ron Paul Survival Report and the Ron Paul Political Report. The newsletters interspersed libertarian political and investment commentary with racial bigotry, anti-Semitism and far-right paranoia.

Among other offensive statements, the newsletters said that 95 percent of Washington’s black males were criminals, and they described the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday as “Hate Whitey Day.” One 1993 article appeared under a headline lamenting the country’s “disappearing white majority.” Other articles suggested that the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence service, was responsible for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, praised the Louisiana racist David Duke and accused some gay men with AIDS of deliberately spreading the disease, “perhaps out of a pathological hatred.”

They're all too blinded from the bong smoke in their mothers' basements to read it.

That part is believable.

Hmmmmm, it looks like its Ron Paul’s turn to get the full on attack from the msm, dimoKKKRATS and RINOs. Anyone who challenges or gets ahead of Mitt will get the full on bombardment.

However I like Newt Gingrich. GO NEWT!

“They also vote and have money.”

And are growing in number due to the ineptitude of everyone they’re being told to support instead.

What do you expect from the NY slimes? Every day they commit media malpractice and slander. Dr. Ron Paul stated on a CNN interview that he did not write those newsletters and he disavows their content.

The only people obnoxious are the Romney RINO talking heads on FOX.

I remember reading about the AIDS “chaser” phenomenon. The non-infected taking out personal ads wanting to hook-up with the HIV+’s. The reasons given were varied, from assuming they would get it anyway, so why not get it over with, to guilt about not having it.

Basically, slow suicide.

The fed is an institution whose future should be debated vigorously. Currently I don’t support doing away with it altogether. It does need to be reigned in. I may change my mind in time, and support it’s demise.

If 100% of blacks in Washington had criminal histories, this wouldn’t be a productive way to address it.

What does it say about our nation that we can select an individual for a
national holiday based on race, but can’t honor the father of our nation?

The terrorists who committed the 1993 bombing were caught tried and convicted.

David Duke is not praiseworthy. Some homosexual men have deliberately
spread the disease, and some homosexual men have been documented trying to contract it.

I don’t like Paul, but make no mistake, the attack machine of the RINO’s, MSM etc. is aimed square at him because of the polls in Iowa.

Negative post after negative post bombarding him right here on FR and in other places.

Its sad to have to choose between Paul, Romney and Gingrich.

Perry and Santorum siphon off conservative votes and split them with Bachmann preventing anyone one of the three from overtaking that top tier.

Bachmann is the most outsider candidate there is of the pack aside from Paul but she was discredited and destroyed months ago to keep anyone from overtaking the annointed one, Mitt Romney.

Perry and Santorum do his work by splitting conservative votes. Perry came in over four months ago to roll over Bachmann who was leading in the polls back then. Perry suddenly takes the lead. Then he started making mistakes driving his poll numbers down.

Is Perry an idiot or was it a deliberate deflation to put Romney up?

One 1993 article appeared under a headline lamenting the country’s “disappearing white majority.”

The disappearing white majority is the planned result of our immigration and abortion policies. This may be the last national election that Republicans will have a chance to win given the ongoing rapid Californication of the electorate.

President Obama in Reverend Wright's congregation soaking up his bilge filled hate-sermons and OH!’s reference to his Granny as “a typical white person” and those in fly by country as “clinging to guns and bibles” are signs of enlightened diversity awareness and not racism and thus not suitable for criticism.

A newsletter nobody read, put out twenty years ago in Paul's name is critical of the sacred cows of the American Left, and is grounds for dismissal.

Racist, homophobe, anti-semite, truther, conservative, constitutionalist,
honest patriots are automatically disqualified.

Did the NYTs hold anything back in this smear? When did Congressman Paul stop beating his significant other?

Where are Obama’s papers, other than the Bill Ayers ghost written tomes about his inconsequential life and dopey thinking on America?

Paul is being “Cained!”

Mitt Romney is King! Long live the King!

The fix is in. Obama will be reelected by a few well placed ACORN votes as Eric Holder and Jimmy Carter and the UN Vote Watchers stand by with mouth's agape.

Good grief! The media must stop deciding who is qualified and abusing the
peoples right to choose from a list of candidates who present themselves, warts and all for consideration.

“Dr. Ron Paul stated on a CNN interview that he did not write those newsletters and he disavows their content.”

OK, fine, now when is “Dr. Ron Paul” going to disavow the support he’s getting from the neo-nazi’s and white supremacists? When will he return the their campaign contributions?
