PICKET: (audio) Gingrich hits Rep. Paul on volunteers who want drug legalization and 9/11 truther views By Kerry Picket
December 22, 2011, 02:32PM
Former House Speaker and Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich explained on Thursday morning to radio host John McCaslin on the Washington Times affiliated radio show America's Morning News why he thinks the current popularity of fellow GOP candidate Rep. Ron Paul of Texas will not last long.
"Look, I think the odds are against the Republican Party of nominating somebody who is for drug legalization and who doesn't understand that an Iranian nuclear weapon is dangerous and who believes that the government of the United States is to blame for 9/11," said Speaker Gingrich. "I think when people look at his whole record, it's very unlikely he's going to be the nominee."

America is doomed. We need Divine intervention.
I’m not a Paul supporter. Yeah I’d vote for him if he won the nomination to prevent Obama from ruling a 2nd term. However, no Conservative who understands the Constitution can support the War On Drugs. It is nothing more then a 2nd Prohibition without the required Amendment.
The only Constitutional way to give the Feds the power to enforce another prohibition is the same as it was since this country was started - pass an amendment. Since there is no Prohibition Amendment against drugs there is no legit authority under the US Constitution for the federal government to regulate/prohibit them. Regardless of how you feel about drugs; the issue is unconstitutional power abuse by the federal government.
So the issue is not about making drugs legal. Technically, at the federal level they always have been “Legal” without a Prohibition Amendment. The issue is forcing the federal government to follow the Constitution as written.
If you want Drugs Prohibited by the federal government get an amendment passed to give them the power. Attacking the dope-heads because you don’t like drug use instead of directing your anger at the worse bad guys here is like cutting off your nose to spite your face.
You forgot the sarcasm tag. The only thing the “war on a few of the drugs” is doing is funding drug kingpins and legions of corrupt LEOs
1. less government;
2. lower taxes;
3. less regulation;
4. government off the backs of the American people;
5. secure borders;
6. No. 1 military in the world;
7. the rights of Americans protected.
I would support Ron Paul over Obama any day of the week!
Oh really? And what is the percentage of the Rx abuse of said narcotics compared to the percentage of people prescribed those 'pain killers' who do not abuse them and need them to function. To control the constant pain and just make it through the day?
But that's sort of beside the point as what 'Dr Paul' is talking about is legalizing all drugs like Heroin. Which from my life long personal knowledge and known facts will turn every user into a Junkie (no such thing as 'recreational use' of H). And it WILL eventually KILL most of them from an OD or a 'Hot Shot' (hint: never sleep with your Pushers wife/GF). And you're also likely get a bunch of other little nasty diseases that will kill you from shooting up. Also, unlike Rx 'narcotics', with H that monkey is always on your back if you 'kick it' (ha, that never happens, one always relapses w/ H).
Even with the 'harmless' marijuana, studies now show that permanent brain damage does occur from prolonged use. And as far as it being a gateway drug, that's mostly true too. More heroin users started off with a joint than with a shot of Jack.
Now I won't go into 'whose an idiot'. In some cases we are winning the war on drugs, like with the Columbia Coke Cartels, and in some we're not like with Mexico. But THAT is a pc political thing. We 'could' wipe them out in a month if we wanted too. But for one thing Mexico doesn't want us to. They need the drug money to prop up their stinking government.
From what I've seen in my 60+ years it is my opinion that every heroin Pusher should be shot on sight then given a Medal. (you'll note I do not use the word 'dealer')
LOL! But, but, you forgot to say; CONSTITUTION! something, something, something, something.
that’s funny, you just described the platform om almost all the other candidates, too
Especially Bachmann and Santorum
so, other than being an absolute lunatic, just because Ron Paul copies everyone elses platform to sound conservative, what actual reason should we vote for him?
We now know what he has in common with Bachmann and Santorum, but the differences are most profound, right??
legal dope,
legal prostitution (YES, LIBERTARIANS ARE FOR LEGAL PROSTITUTION!)
Iranian nukes
Abandoning Israel
favoring Muslims because there is nothing dangerous about muslims
You RONULANS are so stretched, you’ve snapped!
abolish the CIA, FBI
Obumbum and the established Republican RINO’s support Iran getting a nuclear weapon, the lack of action against Iran says it all, and this government just gave Iran one (1) of our top secret drones, free!
Obumbum and the established RINO’s refuse to secure the borders in hopes of more liberal votes!
Obumbum and the establishment RINO’s are running guns to drug cartels in Mexico where they are estimated to have killed more than 2000 people, not to mention the fact they murdered a government agent. This operation to curtail the second amendment rights of every American!
Obumbum and the establishment RINO’s have overseen a 16 trillion deficit and are now going to increase the budget another 1.2 trillion dollars on the back on every American and those who are not even born yet!
Obumbum and the establishment RINO’s gave the American people socialized medical care that has effectively taken over 1/6th of the American economy.
Obumbum ans the establishment RINO’s have overseen the increase in the federal government and regulations unprecedented in American history.
Obumbum and the establishment RINO’s are using the TSA to stop traffic on highways and search them without probable cause in the name of national security.
I could go on and on and you are worried about Ron Paul becoming president? One branch of our government? The establishment RINO’s who want to compromise our principles and subverts our constitutional government in order to work across the isle with progressive liberals is who I am worried about!
McRomney, a big government liberal progressive refused not call Obumbum a SOCIALIST when asked by O’Reilly!
I would gladly vote for Dr. Ron Paul over Obumbum any day and if McRomney gets the nomination of the GOP, I will not be voting in 2012. I refuse top participate in the destruction of the United States of America!
What is wrong with this statement?
It's given by a physician who must have delivered hundreds (hundreds) of crack babies.
The same obdurate fool who does not see what would really happen if drugs were legalized does not make the connection between a strong national defense and our security, safety, and ultimately freedoms in a truly viscous and brutal world.
More than a bit frightening that he has that many supporters, and will have some influence on an election.
.
The under-25 crowd loves the libertarian 'foreign policy' - isolationism by any other name - although a libertarian will argue until Kingdom Come that the libertarian foreign policy is not isolationist, no sir! Then we have the folks who see no harm in two consenting adults exchanging sex for money (as long as it doesn't happen in their neighborhood). So it goes.
Today, we have septuagenarian Doctor Ron Paul, the Texas congressman who runs as a Republican but is an unapologetic libertarian and he is siphoning votes away from actual Republicans, a few of them quasi-conservative. His views are often ridiculous and he isn't going to be win the Republican presidential nomination, much less, be elected president but his supporters don't really care all that much. The good Doctor Paul is not part of the establishment, he has some cool ideas about drug 'legalization' and since he is opposed to U.S. 'intervention' anywhere in the world (if we're not being directly attacked) a 'President Paul' would keep us out of military conflicts and so, no U.S. soldier would ever be put in harms way again. A comforting thought, I'm sure.
That Representative Paul has some weird ideas - as described by Newt Gingrich - is irrelevant to some Ron Paul supporters, I guess. He is the 'protest' candidate (Newt's term, again) and besides, running in the Republican presidential primaries is a swell way to proselytize for libertarianism. That Dr. Paul, at 76, has announced that he will not run again for his Texas congressional seat means that, once he (inevitably) drops out of the GOP primary race, his influence will be greatly diminished. Meanwhile, conservatives will have to decide if among the few remaining candidates that are even remotely conservative, staunch libertarian Ron Paul is the candidate they really want to vote for. I think not.

Well I have a neighbor who is a pot head .. he has zip ambition...he’s killed any zeal for life he once had.. He’s considered a looser and still living off from mummsy and daddy at 38 yrs old. They even have resorted to having to assume finacial control to spare him from going to jail....Further cannot establish relationships with females for any length of time once they’re on to his habit.
Ron Pauls is a danger to this nation and it’s people no matter how people might want to see him otherwise.
Nothing will deter Pauls supporters at this juncture...as stated they really don't care one way or another...they are attached to his hindside and not about ready to let go. Brainless fools who follow a piped piper, and in this case Paul...but there will be another to replace Him along the way and they'll follow him too...that's what airheads do.
