We are becoming the USSR, heck, I don’t think even the USSR had laws this tough.

Agreed.

I am a CDL driver. Just today I was briefed by my dispatcher on the new federal regulation regarding commercial vehicle drivers using hand held phones while driving. $2750 fine for the driver, and $11,000 fine for the company.

Now, folks are free to agree or disagree with this regulation that was put into place by unelected bureaucrats. But the regulation specifically states that it does not apply to any GOVERNMENT vehicle... local, state, or federal.

It only applies to us "little people, who don't work for the government... just like in the U.S.S.R.

It was bad when they pulled this revenue project at the local level. The fines were just 3 digits.

When you get to 5 digit fines... that should be a felony (for the burro-craps).

And what exact part of the Constitution gives the Federal government that control?

It's a shaky bridge the feds are walking on, trying to bump revenues.

Might bring down the whole 'interstate commerce' thing except for dealing with interstate tarriffs.

This is no longer a DEM vs GOP issue. There are as many Nanny State Lawmakers in the GOP now as there are in the DEMs. The more they control the more out of hand things are getting including prescription medication.

It's going to take putting pressure on the elected to either stop or be voted out next election. In this day and time there is no reason anyone should have to get a prescription for cold medications that were OTC till a few short years ago.

I stated this on another thread and I'll state it on this one. The government can't even stop the flow in and out of it's own so called secured prison systems.

Every new "WAR" the government declares on something means less and less rights and freedoms for all especially the innocent. Problems like METH Labs are a direct result of the War On Drugs. These idiots are going to get it one way or another. Make it available to them made in a safe place under safe conditions so the rest of us can get our cold meds or whatever and not have to worry about Bubba with two functioning brain cells making METH next door or in his vehicle.

This has too end at some point and a sense of sanity restored in our government. If our elected from state lawmakers, sheriffs, etc to congress, judges, etc were forced to live their day too day lives under the very laws they create for us then it would stop.

BTW as for cell phone while driving? The biggest users I've seen are Cops. Of course other laws including speed limits going to roll call in their provided vehicle do not apply too them either.
