Police: Worker Shot Would-Be Robber At Kroger

INDIANAPOLIS -- An employee shot a man who apparently was trying to rob a Kroger store on Indianapolis' northwest side Monday evening, police said.

The shooting happened just after 6 p.m. Monday at the store in the 5000 block of West 71st Street.

A couple of Facebook pages were created in support of the as-yet-unnamed employee. ... Most posters said they believe the grocer will move to fire the employee ...~~ snip ~~ "This worker is a hero. The robber could (have) went on a shooting spree ...."

Some Facebook posters who are ex Kroger employees said it's Kroger's policy to fire employees who 'defend the store'.

Sure hope that's wrong. This guy did the right thing and likely saved many lives.

Likely set up the whole thing. A nice little inside job robbery. But ha-ha on her, as soon she'll be facing a Murder Charge since her 'partner-in-crime' died.
