Gingrich vs. Romney: Head to Head Debate?
Now that Gingrich and Romney have emerged as the clear Republican front-runners, the two candidates are being heavily vetted for the impending primaries and caususes. After a number of crowded GOP stages, some suggest it is time to narrow the debates down to the front-runners. Do you want to see Gingrich and Romney discuss the issues in a one on one debate?
Yes
No

Hell yeah!
I’d luv to see Newt ruffle up that walking hairdo...
More like head to posterior.
But yeah, let them have a go at it.
The ‘yes’ responses will be pro-Newt.
The ‘no’ responses are pro-Mitt.
This poll will be a good test of support.
I thought Mittens already pussed out?
Not looking good for Mutt.
84% wants this thing to go 10 rounds and the spread definitely Favors Newt.
Weird, a lizard taking on a snake....
Have got to enter an email address to participate in this poll. I get enough crap in my email box already so let me say, “YES” I’d like to see a one-on-one debate.
FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
If he shows up for the debate he’s gonna pass out from stammering about half through and Newt won’t have even bothered to take a sip of water yet.
Well, Human Events already has my email address so I took the plunge.
I voted. YES votes waaaayyy ahead.
That was actually easy to call. A debate would be very interesting but I think Romney would duck and run for cover. He will not debate Newt now that he has been exposed factually as a much more liberal candidate than Newt. Just my two cents.
“got to enter an email address”
I used www.yopmail.com for anon email addy and picked a zipcode out of the phonebook.
As has been pointed out before, the strength of Ronald Reagan was his almost lifelong study of the Founders' ideas and the ancient books from which they derived them. Such historical study and understanding enabled him to drill down to the principle underlying a certain political issue, and to come up with what seemed to be quick answers in a debate setting.
Quoting Ronald Reagan himself comes easy to most Republican candidates. Few, however, can quote from the 85 Federalist essay explanations of the Constitution's limitations on government, or from the words of the Founders.
To this point, Romney shows no such prior study or understanding, and that would require more than a cursory overview in preparation for a debate.
It's time for citizens to receive a lesson from a history professor, and that, alone, might be a worthwhile endeavour.
Not sure what you’re smoking but CONSERVATIVES, TP supporters, and our grassroots ALL support Newt (per all polling) over Willard and every other candidate. Period.
You don't have a gmail, yahoo or hotmail throwaway email address? Why not?
Exactly. The establishment and liberals could use some Newt schooling.
I'm voting for a conservative—you can believe all the spin from the RINOs and liberal media.
Both Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh say vote for the conservative and neither has any use for Newt Romney.
Romney will never agree to debate Newt one on one. Neither will Obama.
