Easy fix for Virginia ballot fiasco!
self | 12/24/2011 | self-vanity

There is a simple fix to address the Virginia ballot situation in which only Romney and Paul qualified: All the non-Romney voters will simply vote for Paul, which will deny Mitt from winning VA. It won't hurt anything because Paul is not going to win many states anyway. The important thing is to keep Romney from the win, and let Newt finish him off in the other states.

Virginia has open primaries. Democrats will be flocking in to vote for Romney.

That would be fun to watch Mitt’s face.

Maybe so, but not that many. Romney has never been over about 30% in Republican polls, which leaves 70% for the non-Romney voters. Just vote for Paul in VA and problem solved.

Exactly what I have been saying. If the Pro-Mitt VA GOP decides no write-ins will be counted, then we simply deny Mitt all of the delegates? How?

VA has a winner-takes-all primary. If everyone who supports Newt, Perry, Bachmann, Santorum, Huntsman, and Paul decide to vote for Ron Paul in the VA primary, then Mitt gets nothing. All of their dastardly deeds will have been for naught.

EVERYONE in VA should plan on voting for Ron Paul to deny Mitt and his diabolical team ANY VA delegates.

We need a single day for primaries nationwide where all candidates must be on the ballot 6 months ahead of time. No exceptions.

It would also eliminate the single minded focus on Iowa and NH.

I can’t stand the way dink states like NH and IA have so much power to decide things for the rest of the country. Also, the IA caucus being first gives the dang ethanol lobby too much power.

I have already stopped listening to the IOWA punditry - we would do better to send in money for Newt - this is where I wish Rush would step up and just do a money bomb for Newt...He doesn’t have to state he will vote for Newt, but in fairness to the way Mitt has all the media in his corner, just like Rush had folks voting for Hillary to keep the game going, Newt is going to need some heavy lifting in the fund raising dept. Please RUSH, help us out - we’re being boxed into a corner....

I don’t think those states have as much power to sway as you think. Think back 4 years, McCain was not in the picture until he won the Fla. primary, unfortunately after that most states went his way.

Don’t be a phony, a hypocrit. If you can’t support anyone on the ballot, don’t mark it. File it blank.

Too many people are playing games. Be honest, be strong.

A single day primary would allow the candidates to campaign to their strengths rather than sucking up to a couple of states.

One of the things I liked about Herman Cain was the fact that he was actually coming to Michigan and talking to the folks. Mitt Romney won the straw poll here but that didn’t require anything more than going to Mackinaw Island. (Stepped over the people on his way to the cash register)

I don’t usually disagree with you, but I think the dems will vote for paul. huffpo and several other left wing orgs are pushing paul in states with open primaries.

A solution—not a good one but a solution. I support it but will Democrats cross over and pull the lever for Mittens?

Sorry, but as long as it is legal, and considering the gravity of the situation, everything is fair in war and politics. 70% of Repubs do not want Romney.
