Of course not, but Andrea Yates was an anomaly. That sort of thing is very rare among home schooling families.
Unfortunately, the sort of incident profiled in this article isn't anomalous in the public schools of today, which is one more reason that home schooling is growing so much.
Primarily though, parents usually choose to home school because the instruction in the public schools is so lacking. The pervasive liberal indoctrination is also a major deal-breaker for many.
I don't know if you put your own kids through the public school system, but if you were doing so today, you'd have your hands full trying to get the school board and administration to see things your way. The schools are a de facto social engineering division of the federal government nowadays, and they're run much like any other leftist infiltrated institution. Good luck, if you choose to go toe to toe with them.

I live in a small town and it makes a difference because you can cause a lot of trouble and embarrassment when they do stupid things.
