Being Jewish I an not offended by all the Christmas cheer. To me it means in spite of all the serious problems out there, there is hope. And we can respect each other's religious and spiritual viewpoints and air and share, debate and argue our opinions WITHOUT any help from the ACLU, People for the American Way and esp. the gov't. So a heartfelt MERRY CHRISTMAS and Happy Hannukah to the staff at Free Republic and to all my FReinds here! Yes, even the trolls, lurkers and site pests, in the hope that they one day wise up and learn from the foolishness of their ways.
And Happy Hanukkah.
Luckily, these virtual goodies won’t add to your waistline! :-)
Nice. Since my B-day is the same day as yours. Merry Christmas. AND Happy Birthday...teehee...
The Judeo Christian Heritage bequeathed to us by our Founding fathers has made this country the greatest country on earth. Is important not only to understanding our past, but to securing our future.
As the arabs love to say, we are people of the Book...The G-d of Abraham, Issac and Jacob will prevail. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
The Judeo Christian Heritage bequeathed to us by our Founding fathers has made this country the greatest country on earth.
Amen!
Have a wonderful Christmas and to all of our Jewish FRiends
Happy Hannukah!!
As citizens who study the roots of our American system of self-government, whether as Christians or Jews, we must remember that the principles underlying our liberty are derived from Judeo-Christian ideas. They are centered and emanate from a conviction in the 1776 "American mind" (Jefferson) of a Creator who endows each individual with life, with inalienable rights, with liberty, as well as laws for their protection, under the sovereignty of a "Divine Providence" and "Supreme Judge" of the world.
These beliefs are encapsulated in our Declaration of Independence and are the foundation principles of our Constitution.
This is a season for celebrating our holy days, as well as our common heritage of liberty, as Jews and Christian--a heritage we proudly share with all.
