The Justice Department on Friday entered the divisive national debate over new state voting laws, rejecting South Carolinas measure requiring photo-identification at the polls as discriminatory against minority voters.
What a croak of $hit
Americans are required to have photo ID. So how does this discriminate ??
At some point a civil war may ensue. My fear is that it won’t.
Same here in Mississippi. What’s more racist than making someone prove they aren’t committing fraud by showing an ID that doesn’t cost them anything? I think its quite an indictment as to the honesty and integrity of the ACLU, NAACP, and the black voting bloc.
People died so that I have a right to vote.
I do not want the right to vote, and the power of my one vote, to be diluted by the voting of those who do not have that right.
It is a simple as that.
In fact, those capable of critical thought understand, the entire electoral process was compromised and undermined years ago, after the U.S. Government decided to intentionally stand and watch as tens of millions of illegal aliens poured into our country.
These actions not only undermined our electoral process, but our health care industry, our schools, jails, stolen jobs, taken over entire industries, and choked off our hospitals and social services.
It's no different than the U.S. Government flooding the U.S. with trillions in counterfeit currency. Oh, wait, that happened too.
This is TOTALLY TO SUPPORT VOTER FRAUD and ILLEGAL ALIENS voting.
F the DOJ and that dirty effing racist pig holder.
The Justice Department is conspiring to violate MY civil rights by NOT permiting the tools that enables to poll workers to verify eligibility of the voters to vote. It has the effect of diluting value of my vote with fraud. Let’s sue . . .
So, the government can not ask me for my ID or its ok because I am not a minority?
Considering that the states themselves determine their own electors based on their own laws, I dont see where the Federal Government has any business in any aspect of state voting law.
I can sympathize. My driver’s license is always whispering ‘Kill Whitey’ - you know, because ID is racist.
DOJ siding with a liberal POV? Shocker!
Who the heck cares? The Justice Department is not the Supreme Court. The DoJ can't invalidate a law simply because it holds it to be discriminatory. That function belongs to the JUDICIARY, not the executive.
Just implement the new rules anyway.
I think the Black Panthers who position themselves outside voting places, with night sticks, should have to show photo IDs...before being arrested and hauled off!
HOW??? EVERYONE needs one regardless of race, color, or creed if one is an American Citizen and ALLOWED to LEGALLY VOTE!?! I’M WHITE, and I have to have one to pay taxes, to cash a paycheck, to have a bank account, to have a Driver’s License, to purchase alcohol, to get a job, and to abide by a locale’s non-vagrancy rules.
How is it racist to require the same of ALL PEOPLE regardless of race, color, or creed? How is it discriminatory towards minorities? As for funds - well Photo ID (here in Wisconsin) is FREE. So, there is honestly no excuse. If one doesn’t have a birth certificate there are always ways to acquire a copy of one - even without a bank account, or a credit card, or a telephone, etc...
You’re either being irresponsible and not taking care of your business, or you are behaving in a wantonly criminal manner for whatever reason, if you don’t have a valid ID in these days and times (or you are not in the process currently of resolving any pending problems preventing you from obtaining one). There should be no questions even asked about needing to have an ID for voting.
Who wouldn’t have one if they wanted to vote as a US Citizen and an honest participant in the democratic process anyway? It’s not like they are preventing people from voting on the basis of gender, or race - we just want you to prove that you have the right to cast a ballot before we let you participate. And, checks and balances are essential in this day and age. RATIONAL people realize the impetus to commit voter fraud revolves around the HUGE receipt of power and privilege that come with being elected, or controlling a seat as a representative of a party. Therefore, we must do all we can to combat the use of fraud to obtain those positions. It’s definitely NOT too much to ask.
It seems to me the US Constitution is pretty clear about leaving the electoral process up to the states.
I do hope the states that want to implement voter-ID laws fight this until the “Justice Department” looks like the proverbial hamburger.
