“Couple Donald Trump’s name recognition with his extraordinary wealth and Americans Elect truly becomes a viable force in determining who the next president will be,”

What other vote splitting, democrat electing kook billionaire does that sound like?

Here’s betting that about 20% of the FR respondents will support Trump and that 100% of what they say will be macho emotion and 0% of what they say will make any sense or have any logic.

Trump’s top political adviser Michael Cohen told ABC News. “One thing is for certain, Donald Trump is adamant that Barack Obama must be defeated in 2012 under any circumstances.”

And how do you propose to do that by splitting the anti-Obama vote?? His ego is overruling his reason.

Rumor has it that Gary Johnson, the former Governor of New Mexico was so disenchanted and upset by the Republican Debate Committee that he's now considering a run as an Independent or Libertarian.

According to what I've read and could find, Johnson was so popular in New Mexico for his fiscal conservatism (Nicknamed "Governor Veto") that he was finally turned out of office due to .... TERM LIMITS. His re-elect numbers were pretty high, still carries a very favorable rating with New Mexico voters.

Among his accomplishments in office were cutting the state budget 10% his first 6 months in office by using his Veto power on more than half the bills presented to him, and consistently reducing taxes to spur growth. That's just not a fiscally conservative record any other Republican running for office can lay claim to, and would likely have a great deal of appeal to moderates/independents who are concerned about Government spending.

The Libertarian party is in progress of heavily recruiting Johnson to run on their ticket. While Johnson was a non-factor in the Republican Polls (which may have alot to do with him being blocked out of the Debates which he performed poorly in, along with Thaddeus McCotter of Michigan) Johnson's running as a Libertarian -- potentially with "The Donald" on the same ticket may be enough to hand Obama the Presidency if the overall Presidential race is close enough, and a Johnson/Trump (or Trump/Johnson) ticket can peel off a few percentage points of the vote.

Among all the other major blunders the Republican Debate Committee has made, denying Johnson a place on stage for the debates may come back to bite them in the ass as much as allowing that nutjob Ron Paul to participate in the debates did.

Not saying I'm endorsing a Trump/Johnson ticket because I'm not. Obama must be beaten at all costs, and chances are good that won't happen with Trump/Johnson (or Johnson/Trump) running as independents, or together on the same ticket in next year's Presidential race.

Posting as food for thought, don't flame me, just putting what I've been reading out there for consideration.

The whole thing was a fraud, probably engineered in consultation with Obama’s handlers. Why do you think all those left wing talk show hosts helped him get the message out?

Trump is a crony capitalist who relies on political connections to pull off his real estate deals. Almost all of his political donations were to Democrats, plus a few key RINOs.

The trouble is, even a good many Freepers were fooled by his fun and games. So the average voter may well be fooled if he runs third party and says he is a conservative.

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/12/16/group-clears-path-for-a-third-party-ticket/#more-185147

“Elliot Ackerman, chief operating officer of Americans Elect.... Will Marshall, the president of the Progressive Policy Institute, the centrist Democratic research group; Christine Todd Whitman, the former governor of New Jersey and one of a dwindling band of moderate Republicans; Mark McKinnon, the strategist who guided Mr. Bush’s message in 2000 and 2004 but backed Mr. Obama in 2008 and now says his interest is “anything that disrupts the current system,” and Doug Schoen, a pollster who worked for Bill Clinton in the 1990s but is now frequently critical of Democrats.”

LOL~

Don't Judge Candidates what they say, but by what they do.

Romney = Socialized Medicine

Newt = Believe in man made global warming

Both candidates said they believe in small government? Did either of them ever actually downsize government? Slowing the rate of increase of the growth of government is NOT downsizing government. It's still EXPANDIND and INCREASING the size.

They are the Trojan Horses

Call me crazy but I hope he seriously does run for POTUS for the simple fact that the guy has nuts the size of the moon, unlike any of the other fools posing as Republicans today, with the exception of maybe Peter King. I am SO so so so soooooo sick to death of the elitist/liberal arse kissing that goes on in Washington and to me Newt is going to be no different. That guy will say or do anything to get elected then kiss arse to pad his pockets. He is Bill Clinton Republican style. I don’t like Romney and I don’t like Newt. Since Palin ain’t running and Herman Cain imploded I would welcome Trump, but I highly doubt he is serious about it.
