Mitt Romney said he will not release his tax returns if he wins the Republican nomination for president, a rare move for a candidate.
When asked if he would, Romney, in an unaired segment of an interview with MSNBCs Chuck Todd, said that he doesnt intend to release the returns.
I doubt it. I will provide all the financial info, which is an extraordinary pile of documents which show investments and so forth, he said, according to video provided by NBC.
When Todd pointed out that Romney had asked Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) to release his returns during their 1994 race, Romney reiterated his remarks.
Never say never but I dont intend to do so, he said.
President Obamas campaign blasted Romneys statement.
By declaring that, if nominated, he would not release his income tax returns, Mitt Romney is defying a practice to which every party nominee, Republican and Democrat, has adhered for decades, said Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt. Even his father, George Romney, disclosed his tax returns when he ran for president in 1968. Why does Gov. Romney feel like he can play by a different set of rules? What is it that he doesnt want the American people to

LOL. He doesn’t have to. Barry will do it for him.
Gee, there’s a surprise!
How about college transcripts?
Passport files?
If Newt wouldn’t release his tax returns I bet Romney would be the first to run a TV to demonize him. Romney=Slime
“Funny how nobody objected when obama refused to release any of his college or law school records.”
I guarantee you Romney would trade his tax returns for obama’s thesis and college records!
I would like to see Obama’s returns from 2004 thru present...........
I don’t think it’s anyone’s business what is in a private tax return. Financial disclosures per FEC should be required but beyond that is just nanny-state nosiness.
...well so glad that got straighten out, if anyone knows about disclosure it's Odumbo's people
Mitt Romney is not just a flip-flopper, he is the Chameleon Candidate. He radically changes almost all of his political positions whenever he runs in a different election. He refuses to answer direct questions about important national issues, saying that he doesn’t want to weigh in or he doesn’t think he should comment. For over a year he refused to do any Sunday TV talk show interviews. He’s turned down numerous offers to debate with the other candidates. He refuses to release his tax returns like almost every other presidential candidate has. He paid a lot of money to have all of his administration’s computer files destroyed when he left the Massachusetts governor’s office.
Why doesn’t Mitt Romney want to let the voters know who he is and what he stands for? Why is this Chameleon Candidate hiding in the shadows? Mitt Romney is like a box of chocolates. When you elect him, you never know what you’re gonna get.
Along with the Kenyan’s COLB.
“..LOL. He doesnt have to. Barry will do it for him...”

Of course. And what does Mitt have to hide? Gee, look what the Repub Establishment did to Newt over a few mill. Of course it amounted to nothing - just something to try and demonize him (OBAMA CLASS WARFARE). And better yet, recall what Mitt said about Newt earning bucks as a consultant....talk about hypocrisy and that is what Mitt feels he needs to hide. This guy gets more liberal every day. If Mitt has done nothing illegal, what is he worried about other than opening up the title of “HYPOCRITE”??
I think the Iowa people are paying attention to this. Most are not hayseed hicks as the libs would like to call them. The vote will tell us an interesting story and we will see how many different colors Mitt can change.
HEY, we have the opportunity to have another pres__ent!
Working in the shadow of the expert but STILL another pres__ent!
Thank you.
The one reason people might vote for Mitt - TO SEE HIS TAX RETURNS!!!!!!!!
Dang - he’s good;( LOL!!
He’s eventually going to have to release them. Do it now.
0bama is 50% black so HE gets a mulligan.
If I was the candidate, I wouldn’t release jack****. What’s good for Barry Soetoro is good enough for me. If the maggots want to see any documents, let them jump through the hoops the “birthers” have been jumping through. If the maggots living in this country want to look at some tax returns, they can look at their own. If they have any to look at. If they don’t, they can borrow some from their friends and neighbors.
