Lieberman directs staff to examine Fast and Furious coordination

Connecticut independent Sen. Joe Lieberman has directed the staff of the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, which he chairs, to examine miscommunication between law enforcement agencies related to the Justice Department’s Operation Fast and Furious.

A spokesperson told The Daily Caller Wednesday that Lieberman “believe[s] that the lack of interagency coordination along the border merits further examination, and as Chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, he has directed his staff to follow up with the relevant federal agencies on that topic.”

With Lieberman’s committee now examining Fast and Furious details, that means two Senate committees are probing the matter — the homeland security committee and the judiciary committee.

On the House side, the oversight and judiciary committees are investigating the DOJ’s role in Fast and Furious and the homeland security committee’s subcommittee on oversight has launched an investigation into the Department of Homeland Security’s role in Fast and Furious, a spokesperson for subcommittee chairman and Texas Rep. Michael McCaul confirmed for TheDC.

This nation is fed up with Congress, and it goes without saying that they are also fed up with Obama and his gang of criminals.

Let us hope they do something right for WE THE PEOPLE for a change...

I’d say “good”, except that it looks like this probe implicitly advances the whole “botched operation” meme and is looking to explain how poor innocent Holder’s Justice Department wasn’t notified about this rogue, off-the-rails operation.

This is nothing but looking for a low-level flunkie or three to take the fall for this treasonous, criminal, and cynical operation.

Trust Lieberman at your own peril.

Now they’re trying to make it sound like it was miscommunication.

Sure. A future headline such as "Highly respected Senator Joe Lieberman criticized the Justice Department today for its communication failures regarding the Fast and Furious operation" is not a condemnation, it's political cover.

that the lack of interagency coordination along the border merits further examination ...

Just another effort by the libs to further the idea that the F&F program was "botched".

Sorry Joe. Fast & Furious was a "success" from Obama/Holders POV until it was revealed to the world by some honest ATF agents. Hold your hearings and you are contributing to the crime not helping prevent a repeat.

I don’t trust Lieberman any further than I can throw my house.

Now that the rope is being tightened around Holder and his cohorts necks, Lieberman comes to the rescue.

Hang them all and hang them soon.

Lieberman investigates how the accidental miscommunication occurred.

We're saved I tell you, saved! Liberalman will bring us together to create the tough gun control laws we need here to eliminate gun crime in Mexico.

“Miscommunication”? What is that?

Eric Holder communicated to the right subordinates EXACTLY the kind of chaos they wanted to introduce.

This state-supported act of terrorism would be, in a sane world, an act of war against a neighboring country, Mexico.

This was not gun-running by a marginal or shady international cartel, it was done with the full faith and credit of the now failing obama regime, and the powers behind that Kabuki theater called the Oval Office.

Unfortunately, impeachment is not an option. Not because it is without grounds, of which this whole Fast & Furious fiasco is only one facet, but because it is politically impossible as 2012 begins.

100% Guaranteed, and I've got a feeling Droopy’s not to cover for Zippo, but for Hillary.

I'll take it one step further.

I'm willing to bet they intend for these weapons to be used as an act of terrorism/war against the US.

If the left looses it's hold on power, they may never get it back.

Left wing ideology is showing itself to be a failure all over the world.

The left will start full blown WWIII to keep their power.

The Monty Python defense. My goodness. Joltin’ Joe Lieberman announces a Senate Homeland Security investigation on F&F “inter-ageny miscommunication” and the head of Border Patrol runs away the very same day.

http://dailycaller.com/2011/12/21/chaffetz-on-holder-if-he-cant-handle-criticism-time-to-get-another-job/

“The Attorney General is always involved in very serious matters,” Chaffetz said. “It’s the nature of the job. If he can’t handle it and thinks it’s somehow based on something other than his performance, maybe it is time for him to get another job.”
