From her glass house, Meghan throws rocks at Newt

John McCain has to be the biggest ingrate in Washington, which is not a town noted for its gratitude. As House Republicans valiantly try to brings some semblance of fiscal sanity to the federal budget there is the 2008 Republican presidential nominee carrying water for the Democratic Party and splashing it in Republican faces. His daughter, Meghan, is a chip off her father’s block. More on that further down.

John McCain made another appearance on CNN, this time to discuss House Republican action on tax cuts, and said: “It is harming the Republican Party. It is harming the view, if it’s possible anymore, of the American people about Congress. We’ve got to get this resolved and with the realization that the payroll-tax cut must remain in effect.”

He lies on two levels.

1. This is not a “payroll tax” but rather funding for Social Security. 2. This is not a continuation of the cut but a doubling of it.

If cutting Social Security funding by a third is such a good idea, why didn’t John McCain propose it when he ran for president 4 years ago?

McCain 2011 is a hint of what to expect out of Newt 2015. McCain has sucked up to the national press corps for his entire career and he is willing to go the Ron Reagan Junior route of mimicking the Democratic Party talking points to bad-mouth Republicans so he can get another appearance on TV. His service in Vietnam aside, the man is a weasel who sold out Sarah Palin when he saw his pal Lorne Michaels blanch at the thought of a Vice President Palin.

McCain Junior is Scott Brown who issued a press release knocking Republicans for not sucking up to Democrats: “It angers me that House Republicans would rather continue playing politics than find solutions. Their actions will hurt American families and be detrimental to our fragile economy. We are Americans first; now is not the time for drawing lines in the sand.”

Scott Brown is angry?

So what?

Who is he?

He had principles in 2009. Now he is a lackey for the Democratic Party. And guess what, given the choice between a real Democrat and a wannabe, Massachusetts voters will go with the real Democrat.

If he ran as a conservative he would win. But he’s not that bright, is he?

The Hill has the story.

Oh and then there is this from Smitty: From her glass house at MSNBC, Meghan McCain threw rocks at Newt Gingrich’s third wife for being his third wife.

Surely Meghan McCain is old enough to be told that her Mommy was not her Daddy’s first wife. OK?

Miss McCain also called Missus Gingrich “icy.” Same thing was said about Mommy McCain 4 years ago.

I am not saying Newt’s three marriages are not an issue. I am saying it is an issue Miss McCain would be wise to avoid discussing publicly because it reflects on both her father and her mother.

And how about some loyalty here? How about the McCains and Scott Brown dancing with the ones who “brung” them — the Republicans — and quit sucking up to the liberal media? How about some loyalty? How about some integrity? How about some simple common sense? Many a Republican precinct worker sent $50 she did not really have to McCain’s 2008 campaign. The least the Millionaire McCains could do is resist going on TV to trash the Republican Party. A TV interview is like crack to these attention whores.

There are several problems.

Some suffer from being in D. C. too long, and becoming convinced that government must fix everything, failing to understand that it screws up more than it fixes.

Then you’ve got your idiots that were messed up when they first came to D. C.

Exposure to the almost exclusive Leftist mindset in D. C., both government wise, media, and private sector, does lead people to begin to think more like a Leftist over time IMO.

That’s my take on it.

I’m neutral about what this does to Newt.

Not much, imo. Outside of "The View" hardly anyone knows or cares about Meghan McCain.

People in AZ disagree with us; one of us is wrong!

I agree with you. It’s the annoyance factor that pegs to the max for me. Can’t stand those two.
