The countdown to the apocalypse is on. We're one year away from Dec. 21, 2012, the date that the ancient Mayan Long Count calendar allegedly marked as the end of an era that would reset the date to zero and signal the end of humanity. See you on the other side!

Who was it that opined, “The Mayan calendar doesn’t predict The End. It’s just that whoever was compiling it got bored with the tedium and said, “That’s enough. Somebody else can take it from here.”, and no one did.

If Obama loses the election then a pissed-off, lame-duck marxist who despises this country will still be in office on Dec. 21, 2012
The short period of time between the election and the new president taking the oath would be the most dangerous period in our history.

My theory is that someone did some calculations, figured out that in 2012 the would would cross the galactic plane and thought that would be a good STARTING point, and then worked the math and their calendar backwards.

Who was it that opined, The Mayan calendar doesnt predict The End. Its just that whoever was compiling it got bored with the tedium and said, Thats enough. Somebody else can take it from here., and no one did. As far as I'm concerned, they should have used a bigger rock.
Besides, if they couldn't even predict their own demise just a few centuries away, how can you trust their predictions this far into the future?

Kind of hard to keep making Calendars when you have Spaniards arriving on your shores and bring THEIR calendar and culture with them.

The only thing that is going to really stink is the panic that’s going to occur around that time. Get the Christmas shopping done early and stay off the roads to avoid the idiots.

What if it ends, then starts right up again? Will we realise or remember it, or just think it was another hoax?

On Dec 21, 2012, Obama will have had a little over a month to stew in his humiliating, crushing and unexpected defeat at the hands of the American people.
Hell still be Commander in Chief.
Hell still have the nuclear football. Just sitting there. Staring at him. Taunting him. Daring him...
