So Ron Paul is picking up steam in Iowa. May even be a frontrunner.
And here he is (beginning at 4:06 in the video) saying of Bradley Manning, the U.S. soldier who leaked thousands of pages of classified U.S. government documents to Wikileaks, that Manning is a "true patriot" and a "political hero."
I kid you not.

I agree with your characterization of Manning as a “gender-confused train-wreck.” But, beyond that, we don’t know his motivations yet.
While we had operatives trying to shape the political environment “in ways favorable to our national interests,” it is not our place to attempt to impose by force democratic ideals on them.

There is no way to spin the illegal release of hundreds of thousands of CLASSIFIED documents. As a minimum, Manning should have life in the federal pen with no possibility of parole. We’ll never know how many troops we have or may have lost because that faggedy little a**hole Manning decided he wanted to make a name for himself.
Ron Paul, no matter how he feels about foreign interventions, is WAY out of line to express support for someone who commits wartime espionage.
Yet another matter that should give great pause to anyone considering casting a vote for him. The only White House job he’s fit for is ... well... nothing.
Once again... to put Paul into clear perspective:
1. Ron Paul supported the repeal of DADT.
2. Ron Paul attributes 9-11 to AMERICAN policy, not Islamofascist aggression.
3. Ron Paul says Lets just be friends and mind our own business about Iranian nukes.
4. Ron Paul supports the communist-leaning OWS.
5. Ron Paul and Code Pink are aligned vis-a-vis Israel.
6. Ron Paul babbles on late-night talk shows about Michele Bachmann hating muslims and wanting to go get them.
8. Ron Paul published racist newsletters in the early 90s.
9. Ron Paul labeled espionage turncoat Bradley Manning a “hero.”
10. Ron Paul opposes the death penalty.
11. Ron Paul opposed school vouches for DC schools
12. Ron Paul opposes military border patrols to battle drugs & terrorism
13. Ron Paul believes we manufactured fear about Saddam, Al Qaeda, & Ahmadinejad.
In general, I agree with you. However, in cases where by necessity we must take apart the existing power structure in another country by force of arms, we are left with an obligation. We cannot just appoint a dictatorship or abandon the denizens to chaos and anarchy. Traditionally, we have not garrisoned and permanently colonized. We have to leave behind a representative government and give it a reasonable chance to succeed.
It is messy and expensive and bloody and has less than a 50% chance of success. And THAT is why we need to think VERY carefully about where we are going to involve ourselves militarily and be damn sure it is really in our vital national interest.

You zhoul go back and reread what is on your home page, and if you change your point of reference and come to understand that a constitutional government no longer exists here, so we just may have already passed the rubicon in to the next phase. Which would give one a different outlokk on Mannings actions. As Readan said the government IS the problem.
