There was a UNITED ARAB REPUBLIC composed of Egypt and Syria back in the early 1960s. I don’t know if Jordan was in on that. It lasted about long enough to print some postage stamps.
Egypt kept the name, though, and attacked Israel as the UAR in 1967. Here we go again.
