Joe Biden has a long history of verbal flubs, but this one may take the cake.
The Taliban, per se, is not our enemy, Biden said.
Thats right. The Vice-President of the United States, initially added to the Obama campaign to add foreign policy gravitas to the ticket, has come out and questioned whether the Taliban are our enemy.
Lets get right to the context, which the media will inevitably hype in an effort to conflate an amazing gaffe with straight-talkin, straight-shooting foreign policy from the VP.
Biden was answering questions from Les Gelb for a Newsweek interview, the full text of which you can read here. The subject matter of the interview ranged considerably across the foreign policy spectrum from Afghanistan to Iran and China.
But it was on Afghanistan that the Vice President uttered the particularly shocking line about the Taliban. Biden was apparently addressing the reconciliation process in Afghanistan, which could mean a brokered peace with the Taliban. Specifically, he said:
Look, the Taliban per se is not our enemy. Thats critical. There is not a single statement that the president has ever made in any of our policy assertions that the Taliban is our enemy because it threatens U.S. interests. If, in fact, the Taliban is able to collapse the existing government, which is cooperating with us in keeping the bad guys from being able to do damage to us, then that becomes a problem for us.

This all had to be by design...Find the stupidest white whack left liberal for V.P. to make Obama look good....they succeeded.
Just a heartbeat away from the presidency? OMG!
Translation:
We will cut any deal with the Taliban to get this “good war” over with before the election.
Karzai probably realizes this ans is trimming his sails to the prevailing wind.
It’s interesting that the author describes it as a “gaffe.” He didn’t sound like he was engaging in a gaffe, it sounded like he was making a very clear and precise explanation of the Obama Administration’s foreign policy stance.
A “gaffe” is spelling “potatoe” - and that’s certainly not what this was.
Most of this administration’s policies are gaffs!
That doesn’t mean they’re unintentional!
Where to begin?? "Foreign policy gravitas!!?? BiteMe lacks gravitas from his bed to his bedroom door!! Zero was truly grasping at straws (and got the SHORTEST one!) when he added BiteMe!!
What a (pair of) maroon(s)!!!

Regardless of whether they are or are not our enemy, one thing’s for certain, Joe:
YOU are an “enemy” of Western Civilization for embracing such stupidity.
And a quisling, to boot!
This doesn’t sound like a gaffe to me. It sounds like he’s laying the groundwork for justifying whatever horrible deal they’re about to make with the enemy.
Why do we continue to strike everything he says as gaffes?
Look, the Taliban per se is not our enemy. Thats critical. Negotiate. Negotiate. Dance to the music.
Slow Joe strikes again.
Joe Biden is not, per se, intelligent, or even sentient.
Thanks Free ThinkerNY.
It doesn't only matter who the President is when the terrorists hit us, it also matters what hand he was dealt by the fools who preceded him in office.
This idiot, and his boss, the other idiot, are doing things NOW that will kill Americans BY THE THOUSANDS someday. Maybe it will happen during their administration, and maybe it won't, but it will be because of them and their feckless incompetence!
Then, who, Joe, is our enemy in Afghanistan?
Who is it that our troops are fighting?
If it's not the Taliban, then what the hell are they doing there?
We know that obama will run in 2012 but will he pick Joe Biden to run on the ticket?
The libs are having a blast with this one. Especially saying that Reagan armed the Taliban and Bin Laden. I say time to post at 92 other articles quoting the Vice Clown.
