Democrat drops out of race for Texas Senate seat
By CHRIS TOMLINSON | AP Fri, Dec 16, 2011
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Retired Lt. Gen. Ric Sanchez, the sole major Democratic candidate in the race to replace Republican U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, said Friday he is dropping out of the Texas race because of "pressing personal challenges" and a lack of funds.
In an email to supporters Friday afternoon, Sanchez thanked those who had encouraged him to run but said he needed to put his family first.
**SNIP**
While the Republican field to replace Hutchison is extremely crowded, Sanchez was the only major candidate from the Democratic party.

“because of “pressing personal challenges” and a lack of funds”
Yep, not having any money will do that.
He is clearing the way for Bill White to stumble and bumble and mumble his way into that chair! LOL!
Bill White = Elmer Fudd
A democrat General.. obviously hes not dumb.. he must be a commie.. Hes smart enough to know the entire democrat party are progressive socialists...
And a good vote for Obamanomics and his minions..
I don’t think very highly of retired military generals or admirals who run for office as DemocRATS. It makes me believe that they were in the military for reasons other than serving their country. JMO as a conservative American veteran.
What are the “personal challenges?” That usually tends to be the most interesting part of the story for Democrats.
I think that General Sanchez concluded that his party couldn’t win statewide in Texas this year. All the action is in the Republican primary now.
A high profile retired general running as a Democrat? This must mean he was a Democrat all along. I’ve lost all respect for the man, service record an all. This leads to too many bad pictures of his tenure in the Iraqi war.
Anyone have a picture of him?
“I am Dirty Sanchez...and I will be denied!”
“Pressing personal challenges” usually means they’ve been pressing their person up against someone they shouldn’t.
And you would be absolutely right. Any officer above the rank of O-6 is by definition a political creature.
It only makes sense. The higher in the military you go, the more you would have to believe in central planning and command authority.
What a cherry-picking, opportunist whore.
“What are the personal challenges? That usually tends to be the most interesting part of the story for Democrats.”
Hehehehe. You are right. The story behind the story that is never told about dimoKKKRATS.
Oh HIM!!!! Thanks.
I would guess a large majority of Generals are liberal democrats. It is an entirely political position. I would bet the Field Grade Officers are where the conservatives are.
[ I would guess a large majority of Generals are liberal democrats. ]
Under Clinton and Obama is must be hard to get advanced.. IF you are a conservative..
