After being viciously beaten by a 10-strong mob of Egyptian male soldiers, this woman lies helplessly on the ground as her shirt is ripped from her body and a man kicks her with full force in her exposed chest.
Moments earlier she had been struck countless times in the head and body with metal batons, not content with the brutal beating delivered by his fellow soldier, one man stamped on her head repeatedly.

I watched the Iran Election thing closely. Made some friends there. A lot of smart young people lost their lives opposing the Mullahs. They simply dis-appeared in prison. Murdered and families in many cases never even got their bodies.
Young women were in many cases gang raped and then murdered.

Oh, did you pick up on the fact that ALL of the women being beaten/arrested were wearing blue jeans? Reminds me of the stories I heard about the Pol Pot regime, where anyone wearing glasses ended up dead in the killing fields.
IMHO muslim fundamentalists have taken over what used to be a popular revolt, and won't be happy until strict Sharia is enforced. Protestors who enjoyed popular support only months ago are now ruthlessly repressed. The beatings will continue (and beheadings too, no doubt) until the only women on the street will be in full hajib, trudging five paces behind their chaperones.
Surely? You don't know that and by the level of violence I doubt that any advance warning was given.
I detest the brutal violence in the ME (I suspect you do too) almost as much as I detest it happening here.
