Fukushima tofu makers not deterred by food concerns
FUKUSHIMA--As paranoia over contaminated food has the nation on edge, workers in the Tatsugoyama district of Fukushima city are busy producing the local specialty, freeze-dried tofu.
"While we worried about the effects from the accident at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, we are relieved because radiation tests by the prefectural government before we shipped out the products found no problems," said Yukio Kurosawa, 75, who has been making dried tofu for 50 years.

I remember the tofu salesman arriving in our Yokohama neighborhood in the 1950s. He wore an old army cap and announced his arrival with a two-tone toot on a bugle.
The tofu was in bamboo containers carried on a bamboo pole over one shoulder. When the home maker stepped outside, the sale was made and tofu was wrapped in fresh cut newspaper.

Easy to locate in the dark. Comes in handy when you got up at night with sudden craving of tofu and grope your way to the kitchen in the dark, when there is power outage.:-)

That would not have to glow in the dark, there’s a magnetic attraction already working through the monitor!

Well, as long as the government puts it’s stamp of approval on it. They’d never lie, right?

Well - let's see. They lie or withhold information, dilute radioactive sludge, rice, and milk with non-radioactive sludge or foods to get just below the really really high 'safety' limits, and yes those safety limits are really really high, aren't they? And where there's cesium, there's strontium and other isotopes, usually. And yet no test or limit for them?
